Inspiring message but still it would be good to know the average pay packages etc and the sectors that are hiring and the sectors that are not hiring . Just to have an idea .

Hello All,

One query which i had was , do SIMS have day scholars as well ? Can one take accommodation outside and not opt for hostel ? What about guys with spouses . Also i have heard that their hostel is too crowded .

Kind Regards

Hope you have sent the DD. Last date-30th march. - 23-03-2009, 07:10 PM

Hi Guys,

Did you sent your DD? Please remember 30 March is last date for DD to reach SIMS.

If you have sent it, then:
1) What was mode of transport?
2) How do we confirm, if it has reached and being accepted?

Hi Ram,

SIMS is completely residential college. This helps in round the clock availability of students for any seminar and guest lectures.
Few of the local students sometimes go to their home on the weekends.

You can opt out of hostel, informally. But paying the hostel fee is MUST.

Hostels are not crowded, as the number of students are fixed. There are different hostels for 1st year and second year boys. Hostel quality is good.

Students are supposed to stay alone, not with spouses. But I am not sure, so please contact Admission office for further details.

(All the data provided here and anywhere by me is unreliable. Please contact SIMS office for authentic answers.)

I personally know some students who are day scholars as well . You can opt to be a day scholar provided u give a valid reason . I doubt if family accomodation like in IIM's is given in SIMS . You will have to contact the administration for that .

Re: [2009-11]SIMS Results - 24-03-2009, 03:53 PM

Thank you guys for the quick replies. I saw in earlier posts that SIMS is going to dispatch out books to get us warmed up for the academics .I guess 20 April 09 if i am correct .Also any idea about the so called "orientation period "
given by the seniors in the first few days of new session ? Some people say you hardly get time to sleep for the first few weeks.

With Kind Regards
Ram Malhotra

Waiting for the days at SIMS - 24-03-2009, 08:32 PM

Thanks!! Even I will call tomorrow and confirm if DD has reached SIMS.

Janandfeb, there was no need to send any document along with DD. Just you had to write your name and SNAP id behind DD. If you have forgotten, DD number should help.

Ram, thanks for sharing some info about pre-induction program.

I am on all india tour till 10th May. Study materials will be a great welcome back at home.. I am not sure about the content of study material, but I confirm sleepless nights in the first few weeks..

Keep rocking Guys!!

India Tour update: Going to amritsar soon. Golden temple-> wagah border-> Jalandhar. Very much excited.
