Me- because of my leadership abilities (supported by tell them bout the various posts I held during college- explained for 5 mins)

P2-ok then ( closing my file)
Me-I explained only one reason. (sheepishly ) can I tell the other two..??

P2-lol:new_Llol: that sounded more than 3
Me- told him that I have an innovative nature- blah blah- ye research proj kiya, wahan kiya, kab kiya….:xmas:

P1-(always giving me a warm smile) what did u do at NIO
Me- tried explaining… he seemed impressed

Me- (forgot the 3rd point..lol.. I was supposed to say hardworking)…
but ended up saying ‘humble…’.. (after 2 seconds) “..and honest”..
(they were expecting me to give another lecture to justify that)…
(but did not say anything… was feeling thirsty by then :new_Llol

P3- ok u can go..
Me (taking my file) can I have a look around the campus??

P1,p3- of course, u can :xmas:
Me-thank u sirs…(I get up n start towards the door)

P1- have u got any other calls (this ques was not asked to anybody else today….):confused:
Me- this is the only one, however had applied at liba, cudnt clear the quant sectionals..

P1- they had higher cut-offs compared to us..??

Me- there is maths in mba..?? is it tuf ??? ( how dumb) m sure there is a gr8 faculty to help me n teach me

I think I have lost my chance of making it….
I had a wrong attitude…
One shudnt be friendly, its n interview afterall:eyepop:
Not a chai time conversation…
even from last yrs gd/pi experiences thread its quiet evident
Will take a job from next month
GIM … c u next yr…

After me who ever went their interview was 10-15 mins approx.
All of them were asked only technical ques ( no work-ex- even though most of them had work-ex) since sir D’Lima went after mine… no one asked HR related..
Most ques were economics based…
Most of the students were frustrated on their performance ( including me)
Eg. of ques- whats GDP (in detail)… how is it calculated… similarly fiscal, inflation, recession….. etc..
Ques were getting monotonous…. So I left frm there ( ther were still 3 of them remaining)
Every one is called in the ascending order of their XAT ids…

I wud really love to hear from my fellow aspirants and also seniors. Hope this has helped u.

as i said before this was a really long post.. therefore had to break into shorter ones.. forgive me...

First we had to write an essay. Topic: India, next global sporting hub( don’t rem the topic in exact words .. was something similar) time limit 15 mins, 300 words at max
Prof Sukhthankar told us that this essay was given just to check our proficiency in English writing so we were warned against making it a bulletin with facts and figures.
I completed the essay well before time. I just hope they find whatever they are looking for in that essay.:nervous:

I was the second guy for the interview. First one took around 10 mins and was asked mostly about his work ex.
Mine experience
Me: may I come in sir?
P2: come in
Me : good afternoon sir
P2: take your seat
P3: give me your file
P2: describe urself
Me: blah blah.. (had mentioned about my work with an NGO so P1 picks from der)
P1: tell me how this NGO works (thats wat i want)
Me: blah blah
P1: What is your role der..
Me: blah blah …(confidence was buliding)
P2 : wats ur profile in cognizant( dats d firm where I work)
Me : blah blah.. (mentioned wat I do , wats my post is , my tech, domain etc)
P2 : hmmm.. which database do u use in project..
Me: oracle 9i
P2: why not 10g
Me: mentioned
P2: so u work in .net.. tell me what is .net
Me: told everything about its basic..(CTS,CLS, platform independence)
P2(cuts in ) : what is platform independence
Me: explained it..( made a blunder while explaining with example as in heat of the moment I interchanged 8 bit processor with 16bit) prof pointed it out so corrected it and explained the whole concept
P2: which company launched .net?
Me: (how did I forget mentioning it in beginning????) Microsoft
P2: tell me a rival technology ..
Me: java
P2: why should we take you
Me: blah.. blah.. (wondering am i performing so bad that he has to resort to this question..)
P2: what other calls do u have..
Me: told him..
P3(finally he jumps in.. all the time he was looking in my file.. :detective: god knows what he was looking for.. I just hope he dint analyze individual subject marks :nervous: ) tell me about Cognizant’s financial position
Me: blurted out the Q4 results and year end results..
P3: compare this with other IT sector companies Me: went on the often highlighted path abt cognizant.. (Fastest growing.. fastest to reach 1 billion)
P2: give us the figures :crazyeye:
Me: went on to compare market cap(why did I do that )
P1: but market cap is completely different parameter..
P3: what is market cap
Me: told him the definition
P2: so now performance of top IT firms..
Me: (just then I remembered an article in times of india I had read few days back comparing the results of infy and wipro with cogni :xmas
Blurted out the article
(And told him that I don’t rem the performance of TCS )
P3: it seems you have 2 years break between 12th and B.E.
Me: ?????? no sir only one year
P2: (corrects him) no he has only one year break
P3: why one year
Me: blah.. blah..
P3: you have studied in so many places.. wats ur hometown? ( had mentioned it before..:unhappy: I guess he was busy reading my file)
Me: told him
P3: wats ur dad’s business
Me: explained him
P3: wats the machine he is using
Me: blurted out
P3: how does that work?
Me: explained him
P3: but isn’t it similar to the other technology
Me: yes sir.. but the major difference is…. Explained it
P1: der is a new tech in business.. How do we use it if we want to produce low volume..
Me: (I was going in an untraveled territory as I have not much exp in this:nervous:… my dad is in printing business)
Told him about few of the techs I know
P1(not satisfied) : but that machine is not that fast.. lets say I want to come out with a book of mine which has limited copies…
Me : (jeez.. I don’t want to get into my dad’s business.. ask him all this.. )
Told him if he is really looking for small volume and low price for his book then should go for a particular tech which I had explained earlier..
P1: (can’t read his face… is he satisfied??)
P2 looks at him too .. as if asking whether they had enough of my bakwas..
P2: (finally..) thank you..
Me: thank you sir..

dats was all for me..
asked others and they told me that i was inside for arnd 15-20 mins.. dont know how to rate this .. i guess i could not satisfy them completely.. lets hope for the best..

ohter interviews in my group followed the same pattern.. none lasted more than 10 mins..(dont know about the last 2.. as i was bored so decided to leave)
questions were generally related to wat work u do .. some of them were asked exact figures about economy to which they were stumped..
all the best to you all.. ill advise just be confident and think before u speak...
