I am done with the SCIT GD/PI process... here goes the experience :
GD/PI was scheduled at 08:00 AM ..... reached there at about 7:40 Am..
Scit guys were there at the reception... marked present again my name and guided me to a wating room.... where we were again made to sign in front of our names in a different list as one of the senior students spoke our names from the list....
We were divided in 8 groups each group to have 10 people ( your admit card has the number.. like 05A#-% where # is your group number and within that group you are at % position).
We were given Psychometeric test .. 40 questions... 20 minutes.. this is a trap for your HR PI at a later stage
After the Test each of the first six groups were sent out to different rooms for GD's, Technical interview, HR - Interview ... however we were sitting there just watching these things happen..
One thing i noticed was that there were lot of absent guys.. like our group seemed to be the healthiest one in terms of presence of the candidates... we were 8 on 10 .. rest of the groups were like 6 on 10 some 7 on 10.. and like that ... no group saw 10/10.
then we were sent for our first GD ..
the Panel comprised of two ladies.... one of who stood and wrote the topic on the white board behind them.. we were given 2 minutes before we were to start the GD.
a pretty simple topic..
IPL : more of business and less cricket
had a healthy discussion with every guy supporting both facets.. it was a good GD lasted some 15 minutes.. in the last few minutes the panel asked us to summurize.. one of the members volunteereed to do so...
we were now sent back to the ewaiting hall.. we sat there for another 5 minutes. we were then callled for another round of GD....
same pattern here a panel of two.. this time a man and a woman... the topic of the GD was already written on the board..
Topic : 1+1=11
pretty abstract topic.. lot of perspective angles...
had a decent GD .. lasted 15 minutes or so.. this time we were not asked to summaries though.
we were now back in our seats in the waiting hall... this time we were waiting for our names to be called for technical PI and the HR PI.. but there were no calls for some 20-25 minutes.. while others groups were running to and fro the waiting hall..
In the mean time there were five ladies sitting besides compters for varification of the docs... we were getting bored... and i particularly feeling sleepy .. gathered courage to stand for verification... got the things verified.. back into the seat...
Another 10 minutes of wait and i was called for Technical Interview.. but it is technical for just the namesake.. I was interviewed by a lady.. general questions why this college.. what about job resposibilities.... but if you are a fresher expect some JAVA questions.. or something from the computer world..
Moving towards the end of the technical interview i was made to pick a slip from a bowl which had a case study written on it. a wuestion followed and had to answer that question...
back to the seats for the final step the HR interview.... now for htis i had to wait atleast 20 minutes again.. then i was moved to the interview room where a man sat into the chair.. middle aged main from industry as he told me ... asked about the general topics.. naxalites... satyam.. economy meltdown... job oppurtunity or scit etc etc.. this lasted some 15-17 minutes..
Finally done with all the steps n the gd/PI process...
This whole process took some 4.5 - 5 hours to complete.. there was lack of organizing things.. there was no order of people being sent out to different activities.. but anyways the process was completed within 4.5-5 hours as communicated in the start....
