hey,i have a 97.4 percentile in cet no work ex...hav been shortlisted for the gdpi...u mean i shudint even think of converting it?

hi i m working in infosys since last 1 .5 yrs...got a call...want to know is it worth leaving my job and going for a MBA from welingkar....wat was the scenario about this yr placemnt.plz reply soon.

3. Even with about 70%ile in CAT or CET you can get a call through management seat. 4. Almost 90% students who are through Merit seat have a workex of atleast 1 year. I have 2 yrs international workex in Amdocs.

5. Almost 90% students in management seat have 0 workex and are commerce graduates from Mumbai

6. I had 96%ile in CAT so for me it was a cake walk, but I have students in my class who have 80%ile in CAT and have still managed to convert the call(They have 3+ years of workex)

7. Its very difficult to convert WE school in merit seat because of the sheer competition. Over 5000 students are interviewed at these 4 centres, and just 30-40% seats are merit seat

8. I have the highest CAT percentile at 96, in my class. There is a girl who had 99%ile in Xat(also a topper of the class) and another guy with 98%ile in XAT.
Apart frm 3 of us, almost all other are through CET or ATMA

9. I have a good rank in JMET, thats why I am leaving the college after 1st year. Even in the new batch there would be about 10-12 students who would form a group and prepare for CAT, XAT and JMET

10. Nobody would bother to read your essays, so do not worry too much about em. The simplest way of cracking the GD is to be very active and try and be the leader. For the PI, you need t show to the pannel that you are highly motivated towards MBA and have leadership qualities.

nice to read ur exp. some info from internal guys. BTW how did u manage to study for CAT.....interesting...

just perform well in ur gdpi and don't think about these things as of now...best of luck

Even i am in infy from 18 months, have the same confusion ,but right now focussing on converting the call ...never know when infy might just decide to right size the workforce ...

Lectures are conducted, but beyond that theres not much work. Presentations are prepared the night before usually, and still you would find that you are much better than 60-70% of the class, who are as such not interested in anything apart from the final Diploma.....

Thanxs for the inside info......i have 2 frnds in welingkar mms who have signed up for ims cat2009 test series and were preparing for cat,xat and fms throughout.

i have read the thread i wanted to ask the seniors just out of curiosity why is that after getting admission in a B school you guys r still preparing for CAT ??

hey hie...i am shortlisted for gd/pi with 95% in xat...i hav avg. academics and same extracurriculars..do i stand a chance for converting it..?
