I was wondering if there is any set process/strategy for conquering SW PI.As what i have read and understood through the orkut SW forum is what matter more is who you are and how much you are intrested in REALLY pursuing Social works....because its a completely different type of life compared to any HR/Marketing/finance guy's........Actually as per me goal is not just entering into TISS SW but how it will help in achieving my goals for me and society togather....i am thinking about it these days....
PS : its all my personal views.
BTW no information on TISS website uptill now for PI schedules.
all the best to everyone..

Yeah i totally agree with u.. for any personal interview i think it ultimately determines who u are and what u want to be.. I dont think there is any strategy to ace the interview other than just being honest in whatever u say to the interviewer.. Ultimately how much ever u maybe u prepare for an interview, it depends on the questions asked and how we answer them...
Still the gd/pi dates have not been put up...:confused::confused:.. wonder as to when they will update it. cant wait...
Anyways all the best u guys!! Lets hope that we all ace the interview
and meet up at TISS!!!!!
Cheers...
Avanti...

Hey the details of the GD/PI are out.. We have to submit a detailed application form by the 5th of March... The DAF will be available on the net from the 6th of Feb.. The GD/PI dates are from the 13th to the 21st of March.. The final dates will be available only on the 9th of Feb, and an email will also be sent to all of us regarding it...
Guess we have to wait for the 9th for the dates now...:confused::confused:
Cheers...
Avanti....!!

hi all here is a message for all of us fr a really kind senior who replied .....
This is the message for all aspirants for TISS, the oldest and premier social work institute in India.
Dear Friends!
First of all CONGRATULATION!!! as you have come to PI Level in TISS. I am glad to know that you have started a process/ group to interact with seniors (alumni) and seek guidance from them. We are always there to share our life in TISS, experience in all aspects.
First let me tell about PI of Social Work. The PI Panel consists of extremely nice and experienced professors. Some common questions such as Why did you choose SW (many people from different background apply)? What you want to do as a social worker? What would you do, if you are not selected? Basic questions will be asked from your academic background (what you have studied in graduation), past experience (work, leadership & social initiatives in school/ college/ university), about your state/ district (major social problems & possible solutions), situational questions, behavioral (sensitivity, commitment, empathy towards people). You should be natural, be truth and confident. Read news paper (current issues), Social issues in India by Ram Ahuja, Common issues (Class, Caste, Gender, Religion and Environment etc). Go through your Biographical Sketch and your details.
Now let me share experience in TISS campus. I am sure that you will have wonderful two years time in TISS campus, Mini India, where you will find people from across the county and few foreign students & professors. You will have access to a rich library, different background people (academician, social activists, leaders). You will get platform to grow in personal, professional life with developing leadership and strengthening strong & close network. You may take any initiative and get encouragement & support from friends, professors for your endeavor. The placement, there is huge scope for you to work in your interest area. I would tell you all that there is huge unexplored potential in TISS to use the large network of TISS alumni, who have spread across the globe (many of them are in very superior position).
If you want, i am here to help for mentorship (you with seniors/ alumni). Feel free to mail me – sanjayatiss@gmail.com for further clarification.
