[quote=nitinpai87;1342973]Just couldnt resist giving my two cents opinion on this :
1.We all know symbi is a big money making scheme under the guise of providing good quality education.i give CAT and i become eligible for all IIMs for admission. here I have to spend a minimum of more than 2000 which is completely usurious.
2.One reason of lowering scores would be to force applicants to fil in forms of various low class symbi insitiutes like SIMC etc etc. I say low class in relation to SIBM SCMHRD.
3.Most of us now believe that this thing was going on for many years and symbi made a mistake of giving back the question paper and hence this discrepancies came out (reminds me of satyam fiasco). If all those who knew it why give SNAP??? Why go to an insititute with suspected ethical values? This thing will die down if symbi says "fine we will take the answer key of some classes (most of classes had predicted higher scores for appllicants). And the same peitioners will pack their bags go to symbi and sing paens about the insti on "life@sibm,life@scmhrd etc etc"
4.Why only symbi? Petition against IIMA:suddenly more weightage to 10th and 12th marks. IIMB was dragged by an applicant to the RTI for revealing their admission process. No one does it on their own.
5. GO to the SPJIMR thread.Applicants are questioning the ir process. But will be more than eager to join SPJIMR.
6.I was an active participant on the IIFt thread.Same old saga"mismanagment of test, no clarity on the cut offs etc etc.Everybody is now busy preparing for GD/PI.
7.This morning I read on the IRMA thread that IRMA is calling people who have not cleard sectional cut offs but have scored more in GK (cannot verify it as its yet not mentioned on the website).
Would like to conclude with a reference to Krishna Paleppu (the guy who was an independent director on satyam board and is prof at Harvard) to drive home the systemic crisis in all areas of business.
Paleppu was probably a key figure in the satyam fiasco labelled India's Enron. This is what his primary interest of teaching is at Harvard.
In the area of corporate governance, Professor Palepu's work focuses on how to make corporate boards more effective, and on improving corporate disclosure. Professor Palepu teaches these topics in several HBS executive education programs aimed at members of corporate boards: "Making Corporate Boards More Effective," "Audit Committees in a New Era of Governance," and "Compensation Committees: New Challenges, New Solutions." He also co-led Harvard Business School's Corporate Governance, Leadership, and Values initiative, launched in response to the recent wave of corporate scandals and governance failures.

:new_scatter:GREAT work man:new_scatter:
i totally agree with u , why only symbiosis.
there r lots of institutes in india who r doing the same for so many years.
even in cat there r so many institutes who say , """"'' THE LAST DATE TO APPLY TO THEIR B-SCHOOL IS ONE OR TWO DAYS BEFORE CAT"""""'''
after cat they say """"" THE DATE HAS BEEN EXTENDED for filling the form""""".
can some one explain this ......... ans is no..........
they give unfair chances to those candidates who fill their application after cat exam.
it is not symbi , it is also done by so may elite cat institutes.( i don't think so , i need to name them ,,, you know it who they are)
THEIR CRITERIA IS NOT CLEAR . THEY ARE MONEY-MAKING INSTITUTES....
SO guys it would be better to fight not against only symbiosis but against so many b-schools who r doing the same( behind our back)....
