Re: [28-Dec-08] NMAT 2008: Paper Discussions - 29-12-2008, 09:14 AM

Went through all posts in this thread. This has shaken me and my confidence. I see everyone attempting atleast 130 questions. I mean how was that possible? The human mind cannot solve 130-140 questions in 120 mins in such a paper where there were many questions on those hi-fi calculations. That means my attempts of 115 are very very less. Because my accuracy is also 85-87%. That means NMIMS out of my hands if we have so many high attempters with good accuracy!!

Hii puys...

The shameful manner of conducting exams by NMIMS is nothing new.
These private instis are there just to make money be it by increasing tution fee, management quota , under the table or watever.
Even if you mail them , call them they ll be least bothered to respond you in a professional way.

Anyways this cheating event was done on large scale last year too and I was very well aware of this before the exam.
Even I had asked about this incident from NMIMS seniors twice on PG thread and mailed the NMIMS people but I didnt get any response. Following is the link for the same--

http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/other-...ml#post1294843

Why do you guys think seniors were silent or the autorities didnt reply last year also. It shows this also may be a money making business by allowing any person with calculator and giving some money to invigilator for being outside during exam. These institute can go till any extent for money because they are not here to provide education but to earn anyhow.

last year I guess only there were communication in PG(and some other forum) and mails were sent to those people. But some puy posted that he has his contacts in media and he ll push this matter there so that the brand name of institute suffers. I strongly second that. Not only this I also request to people who have habit of writing editorial posts or something do write to all the newspapers so that this incident may be shown at a bigger scale.
But believe me only mailing/calling them ll make u very frustrated which was my situation last year.If we have some group of puys from mumbai who can personally go to the NMIMS to talk to them face to face then we can expect something (only from next year)
Also I ll request to all puys who write blogs, do write in detail about this shameful manner of conducting exam.

Now coming to cut off prediction. Those who are thinking that cos of cheating cut off ll go much higher than last year-please think that these cheatings were there last year also so cut off ll remain more or less same as last year. Again cos of additional seats(sectoral now added) more no of calls may be expected so cut off can be on a lower side anywhere between 80-85.
I personally believe the paper was more or less on the same line as last year.

hi puys,
i felt no wonders on reading that many of you have attempted 130+ questions...
even i have done so...
my attempt break-up is as follows...
VA 40/40
QA 45/60
LR 45/50

started with VA, took about 22 minutes, did LR for 45 minutes or so (left all the 5 questions on statements)
for the rest of the time attempted QA...
paper was on the easier side, quite same as the last year one...
i got an 82 last year and didn't get a call...
lets see what stored in for this year...

It doesn't matter much if you have attempted a 115..that is if you are sure of your accuracy. Those who have attempted 130+ will have lesser accuracy (except a few).. so just chill..

dun worry dude, There are still ppl with lesser attemps... 115 is still very good shot....
Last year cutoff was 85.... this year it might go down...
so 115 with 805% accuracy is a good chance.....
Keep trying untill u suceed....

Yes pal..that is true..aur ab toh is thread mein cheating ke bhi kisse padh raha hun..so those cheaters may have wound up all calculation questions in a minute..this can boil anyone's blood who had hopes tied to NMAT like me..fokat ke hero banenge ye log! though my centre was in NM college of economics diagonally opposite to NMIMS and I didn't see anything like that there.
Anyways guys thanks for pouring some confidence back again.

Re: [28-Dec-08] NMAT 2008: Paper Discussions - 29-12-2008, 10:04 AM

Last year for around 220 seats there were around 2200 calls..
This year, since they are increased to 360,
i guess there will be close to 3600 calls(10:1 ratio)..

number of aplicants have increased but seats increase will ensure that cut offs remains more or less in the same level..

My take (purely personal)

83+ =rank 3500
88+ =rank 2500
93+ =rank 1800
98+=rank 1300
103+=rank 800
110+=rank 100-

wats the take of puys?
