Wht if ones percentage is not 60 in graduation...will they get the call for interview or get selected if performed very well in all the rounds of FMS or the doors r only open to pple who have gud percentage ? I am a final yr student n whether i'll be considered for MBA if i performed very well...is acedemics really very important or the panel could give some relaxation if the banda is really gud... ?? I knw its a lil stupid query..bt answers will be highly highly appreciated...thanks n regards...
1. Students are called for interview on the basis of ONLY written score. If you are eligible for the course (minimum marks in graduation), you will be called, provided you score in written.
2. Good marks are always looked upon by panel, but if you have very good performance in extra-cocurricular, you can justify poor marks to some extent.
3. I personally know a person who scored 61 percent in BA and is studying in FMS.
4. Your chances of making are as bright as chances of someone with 80 percent.

Dont know why you want to know at this stage, but anyways here is it.

You get shortlisted entirely on the basis of the percentile. the magic figure i guess is 98.5 Coz have heard percentiles about 98.6 in college.....Then you get called for interviews in alphabetical order. Delhi people at the end....Last year the interviews were scheduled from 12th to 20th March. The result is anounced on the night of the last day itself.

The process is a 2 stage process. GD +PI (Extempore is a part of interview so you can say it is a 3 stage process)

Normal GD process like any other. 12 people in a group. Contemprory topics. 12 minutes.
Interview starts with a 1 minute Extempore. topic can be anything under the sky. 60 per cent of the time it is related to your profile/form/clothes u wear/GD performance but that is a norm not a rule. After your extempore the interview is a really small one. 10 minutes generally. We will be there to help you at that stage so dont worry.

PS: MBA and MS procedures are separate. Pattern is the same. For those who are shortlisted in both, the procedures will be on the same day at different times.

Really appreciate the effort being put in by the seniors to answer our questions.

1.I wanted to know what strategies you guys employed when tackling RC's in last years test.I solved the paper and found the going tough-tried to read all the 5 passages on a trot and solve the questions but made a lot of mistakes.Would this be a prudent approach?or would you suggest attempting 3 or 4 passages max.

2.Would 15-20 correct answers in LR be enough to clear the 50 percentile mark(assuming it is a 175 qn paper?)

3.Could you please throw some light on the overall strategy? time spent on each section and the order in which they were attempted?

Adding to gammafunction's 3 superb queries above, I would like to know the order in which the seniors in this thread attempted the sections in last yr's FMS coz we dont have many MOCK fms papers around to try out all P and C's. What is the general trend followed by FMS call getters?

Also since the test pattern has not been disclosed ala SNAP, I would like to have the seniors commenting on the different surprises that can be expected by us, or rather, unexpected for us.

Evrytime I post a query like this, I wonder if PG (an :angel has spoiled us.

regards and thanks

Hello seniors,

Please throw some light on how one should attempt RC section in FMS.
Last year I found the RCs too long to read and even the questions were not straightforward. How to deal with RC section?
Also in what order it should be attempted?..
