Last year, people who attempted 75-80 (correct), got the call. But keep in mind the difficulty level of paper can vary. don't go to examination hall with any pre-conceived notion. For last three years, cut off has been going down.
About cut-off, my personal view is that never work against your body, in examination hall. If you are unable to attempt large number of questions, then BELIEVE it that paper is tough and others are also facing same problem. We generally go with a pre-conceived notion about cut-off and end up in a mess. Till last year FMS cut off was around 100 correct, but last year people got calls even at 75-80. So never work against your body capacity in examination and you will get through (this comes with a disclaimer that it is for someone who PREPARED for exam)

seeing last 2 years papers, it is difficult to spot a pattern. January 2007 paper was filled with complex numbers, log and quadratic equation....
Jan 2008 had few questions on limits, differentiation, maximization...

Hi,
I am going to appear for FMS 2009 .so far i have appeared in two mock test of FMS but in each test i have only attempted 90-95 question with 70-75% accuracy. In this scenario how can I improve myself so as to make sure that I reach the cut off for FMS ? plz suggest.

Heyy All!
Logged after a long time..and what i see is this thread stating that 75-80 would be a valid cut-off. I beg to differ.
A 75-80 attempt would mean a score of 300-320, and that would be a cut-off in a slightly low-scoring paper.
I fathom that the cut-off is around 340. But that's my guesstimate. Someone might say its 360. Someone, well, 220.
The point that i am trying to make is that don't predict/guess-work the cut-off. It can't be done. And its not relevant. Each year gets a different paper, with no relation WHATSOEVER with the previous years'.
Goes w/o saying, try and work out as many questions as possible. If you want a target, a safe target one would be to try and reach 100+ attempts.
