Yeah.. Am vishal Mehta from talktime... I took up this ID last year keeping my TIME ID number as a base but now unable to change it!!! Nor am I able to create a new one on the same email id... hehe.. doesn't matter though.. will try deleting this account and create another one, if possible

Cutoffs cdn't have been negetive, I can presume 1 thing, that they combined the LR DI score and then applied sectionals. Or something like that. And from what I've seen, at least some marks in GK is a must. And me is the Istud getting a royal -1.2 in DI.

And to others who are saying there were no sectional cutoffs, I'm 100% sure that sectional cutoffs were there, even if T.I.M.E. and IIFT keys differed!!!

Ya even I do feel they applied sectionals in some weird way. But they did. Thats the only thing that can explain people not getting calls at even 29 30.:1eye:.

Interesting to note that there are 1225 names on the short list compared to 910 last time. IIRC, IIFT Director stated last time that they try to maintain a 6:1 ratio in the final selection.

congrats 2 all call getters...so real IIFT fight begins. I have heard that GD goes for 50 mins aprox and thats to relating to economics. Essay is also more or less very typical business related.
IIFT seniors plzz help us all for GD, essay and PI.

firstly congrats to everyone with calls....me included :P

secondly....i think any sort of estimation of what the cutoffs are would be pointless untill the iift answer key comes out....for all we know, we think we're getting a 27.9 acc to TIME/CL/IMS, but IIFT's answer key might just be telling another story.....it's crazy to even think of possibilities like "sectionals cutoffs only in some sections".....the point is, we dont know our actual scores according to IIFT's key and until then all speculation would be futile....i know that IIFT's selection process has been shrouded in mystery, but I dont see any reason why any institute would try so hard to ake the selecction process difficult and meaningless for itself.....my take is that iift's answer keys are probably quite different from that of the coaching classes, and selection thereafter would have been straight forward.....

Yeah that's right..
Puys let's not jump to conclusions..Let's wait for the official scorecard and then decide about the cutoff..That way we and all the future aspirants will have a clear idea about the cutoff..and the registrar and the director of the institute have confirmed that there will be no sectional cutoffs..and even here we have people with negative score in 1 section getting calls..so there is no reason to SPECULATE that there were sectional cutoffs/they combined some sections like LR DI etc..these are pure speculations..there are many possible reasons for someone who EXPECTED a good score to not get a call..1. they are only expected scores and not the actual ones..(there could have been shading mistakes) and 2. IIFT key could have been very different from the key given by coaching institutes..so let's stop breaking our heads about the cutoff (we'll do that after the official scorecard is out) and start our gppi essay preps..all the best to everyone

Hi Karthik.. I guess you're having time of your life at IIFT!!!

I have a few queries:

1. Does IIFT intend to give scores this time?
2. What is the ratio of Freshers to Experienced Guys at IIFT?
3. Has IIFT increased it's intake because of the reservations? If so, how many are available in total and how many for the General Category?

Last year there was no essay...don't knw wht will happen this year.

True that GD lasts for more that 45 minutes....topics are very much based on current affairs...u need to be good in content ( as the GD duration is very long)....so read as much as u can.

PI is not very tough...current affairs and overall general awareness should be sufficient.
