SCMHRD has a unique profiling based admission process in place.We consider all the factors which are relevant in current scenario and help an individual during MBA.We believe that to be a good manager, one has to be an overall performer rather than a good academician.
Every individual is judged on various defined parameters which keeps on changing with the market requirements.
And girls getting GD/PI calls over boys is totally a myth.There is no special weightage to gender.

above sentence seems to be contradictory. If it is a MYTH it implies predilection. I saw SCMHRD student profile where it's having good diversity. But saw very less number of guys taking HR profession

I wish it were to be true........but this really happened last year because i myself knw some girls who got calls at very less number and very NORMAL profile.............infact one can find this in last year scmhrd GD PI threads also.....there was lot of discussion on this topic .....hope this doesnt happens this year

Again i would like to reiterate that SCMHRD is indeed a gr8 instt.....and no offense to anyone

may be that is the reason why girls were given calls so easily......guys dont take up HR and instt wants its students to take HR too becoz scmhrd main strength is HR ....seniors please take HR so this thing is not repeated

Dear aspirant,

This is completely not true. We have a good number of guys also taking up HR. Also HR is just one of the Center of Excellence, others also have equal weightage in the college.

Infact girls are their in each and every specialization including Finance, Operations and Marketing ...maybe more that what are there in HR. So your facts are not correct.

Dear Senior,

I was not stating some fact...it is an opinion....the reason for this perception is mentioned in above posts.....please go through them.....infact many guys think this because of the last year's admission process.....please go through last year GD PI thread also

I know HR is one of the Center of Excellence and every other stream is given equal importance

I have been a part of SCMHRD GD/PI process last year and i also thought that may be girls are preferred over boys, but guys trust me its not like that. SCMHRD prefer people from diverse background and thats it.

There is a lot of things that go into the admission procedure, which now i realise and which you must be also aware of seeing the admission process last year. Its just that we are trying to remove certain misconceptions of people about our college that we are here.

Just checked from the instt website profile of 06-08 batch Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource development

Here is the ratio of girls out of total students in that stream (i used filter on single stream every time...scmhrd offers dual specialisation)

HR 24/31
Marketing 15/63
IT 1/3
Finance 23/54......finance is all time fav
Operations 1/15

All i can say is that this data is of that of batch of 2008. Our batch i.e. 2010 batch has almost equal ratio of girls to guys in each specialization.
And in no way girls only choose HR.
