hi amar,
last year's cut-off for GIM was 90 percentile with no sectional cut-offs. no weightage to the essay either.
what strategy is right for you depends on the colleges you are targeting. whether they consider sectional cut-offs or not. but at least try to maintain a decent %ile in verbal. you dont want to be cornered for a low score in that section in the PI stage, do you?

Would like to know what is the weightage given to XAT score at the time of final selection coz if you just manage to scrap thorugh the cut-off at 91 - 92 % levels is there a fair chance of converting your call.

Will it be possible for you to chk if my application form has been received or not.My XAt ID is 339139. It was sent by speed post from Mumbai on 24th Nov...India Post site shows that it has been dispatched from Panjim for Ribander on 25th Nov..

Wrote to admissions office as well but no reply from them...Plz help

Hi Arjun and Santosh

till last yr , we were not given xat score i.e only percentile is given to d candidate not d score. usually cut off remains very low in term of score. i was expecting around 26-28 score n i got 94% .... so u can expect really low marks as cut off.. but again these things happened last yr.... expect d unexpected ... be ready for anything...

weightage given to xat score is 50% at the time of final selection. n ur final conversion depends mostly on ur performance of gdpi. in our batch we hv students ranging from 90.01% to 99.98% . so just relax n give ur best shot in xat n thn gdpi .....

Can u pls let us know wat is the wightage given to work ex and extra curricular at the time of final selection.

Also how s the summers(Internship) going on @ GIM. I mean during this recession is the impact really bad or ppl have to search for their summer project outside ?

Hi Shashi,

The weightage given to work-ex and acads is 10% each.

As regards the summers, so far there is not much impact due to the recession . The summers are going to be provided by the college itself. The reason being brand GIM. Companies have long standing relations with the college, so even during recession they do come and recruit from the campus both for the summers and finals.
