even though it has been asked again and again..still then it would be great of ximb seniors to throw some light regarding the cutoff percentile for general as well as orissa domicile quota..

was their any sectional cutoffs???
also what is the % of freshers in 2008-10 batch??

Re: XIMB : Solution Centre '09 - 19-09-2008, 11:45 PM

Hi Raj,

The cut-offs for last time were estimated to be slightly more than 96% with 90% in each section. These figures are conjectures and are expected to increase slightly this year.Such information is not known with certainty.

Also the domicile quota applicants get due weightage in the interviews and there are no fixed % of seats as such.

There are about 40% freshers in the 2008-2010 batch.Hope this helped:happy:. Feel free to shoot other queries:bigear:.

There are a lot of vibrant freshers here raj....and abt the fee structure, well it works out to be approx 6 lac for the tuition fees and arnd 6.5 if u include all other miscellaneous expenses like mess etc...

The programme is fully residential. The campus life of XIMB is renowned for its rich culture. Not only does the residential part allow u to do grp assignments/project work till 4 in the morning but also attend late night meetings etc plus u get extra time if u r in campus since u dont need to travel to campus.

hello frnds...
i gave CAT last year and scored 91+ ... but could not give XAT ... i know that CAT is different from XAT in terms of time level and also quants.... all i need to know is that " IS XAT A GAME OF SPEED OR ACCURACY??... I BELIEVE THAT CAT IS A GAME OF ACCURACY"
cause in CL mocks i am scoring 16 with 19 qs correct with 80%ile.. but someone told me that to get 90 %ile in XAT you need to get around 30 qs correct...is it right??
pls reply...
thank u

Hey,
these 2 are very different exams, each testing ur quantitative, logical reasoning, verbal ability, comprehension, data interpretation skills in different ways.
XAT is different from CAT in many ways, for eg. the time duration was 2 hrs in case of XAT2008 followed by a 20 mins essay writing. Quant n DI are together as one section and there is a section on LR and Decision making. Both of the exams require you to select the doable questions( in given time) and do them correctly. In XAT there is differential negative marking scheme. And XAT 2008 had 120 ques compared to 75 in CAT 2008. In CAT 2008 to get abt 95 %ile one needed to do about 24-25 ques correctly out of 75 whereas in XAT 2008 about 34-36 right solutions( out of 120) would have fetched approx 95%ile.So u can see for yourself whether it is test of speed or accuracy. And One should always try to maximise ones score by choosing the most doable( easy/straightforward/from strong areas ) questions and then doing them accurately in least time. The pattern can vary from year to year but this approach will assure one performs ones level best.

I hope i have answered your query.
All d best

thanks 4 the reply sir...
i think question selection is the most importanat criteria over here.. and of course if u have speed it helps... so i'll try to maximize scores by trying this strategy in the coming mocks...

hoping to be ur junior..
