This kind of a problem is not so uncommon with freshers. If I recall correctly, you will need a provisional certificate from your institute head certifying that you have completed all the formalities of ur engg course and that you have appeared for the final exams and are awaiting the results of the same. Then, when the results are declared, you need to submit the marksheets. Do remember that until then, ur admission is provisional.

Dont worry to this extent!!! I m sure ur university wont spoil someone's career just for the heck of it!!!
As for the answer to ur query, well...I really don't know what will happen as we have not faced a case like this recently. However, you may beware that the admin would have every right, in this case, to scrap ur admission to XIMB. Whether it would choose to do so or not is, I suppose, a matter of speculation.

Hi Seniors,
I am confused on whether to join XIMB or not. I have some doubts. Would be great if you could clear them :
1. I heard its location is a disadvantage for the institute. Could you throw some light on how much difference does it make. Is the industry interaction impacted by this? What kind of companies offer summer internships in XIMB?
2. How are the summer internships and the placements going on in the current scenario? What kind of profiles are being offered to XIMB students by the companies?
3. I got a call from XLRI(BM) this time but could not convert. I think i have the potential to crack XLRI next year. Would it be a good idea to drop XIMB now and try for XLRI or the IIMs next year (I am presently working with an IT company)?
XAT Percentile: 98.03
Work Experience : 17 months (IT company)
Thanks and Regards,
Saurabh

@Saurabh
Although I am not a senior - still can help with a few of your queries...
1) There is nothing like location disadvantage with XIMB. Its been attracting industry same way as it has attracted you. Moreover being in the capital of one of the states where investment (leading to growth of industries) in the last 5 years has been remarkable...XIMB has an added advantage.
2)Regarding companies which come for summer internships - Seniors would be in a better position to comment on the summer internship & placement profiles (I feel its at par ...on similar lines per current industry trends - location Bhubaneswar has never been a deterrent for this)
3)Its ultimately your call whether you would be joining this year - or will have another go at XLRI/IIMs - with 17 mnths IT exprnc there is nothing to lose - but question here is having the motivation and the fire burning within for another shot at the ivy league instis.
P.S.: I am not a senior, rather an aspirant as you.
Sorry if you thought I am bugging
