Hi Aditi...the data you want is available here

Placement Reports

PGDM is the flagship business mgmt programme of XIMB. PGDM (RM) is the rural mgmt programme. The target audience of these programmes is entirely different. For greater clarity on these, visit the pedagogy of the courses on the XIMB website.

3 yr part time course is aimed at working professionals who want to pursue their MBA and work at the same time. Details are available on the site.

As for which programme is worth it, that entirely depends upon u. U have to decide wat kind of a course u wanna go for and then chk whether the course meets ur objectives or not.

@ximb seniors

are u sure abt the 90%ile sectional cut off .... 96 is still manageable in xat but getting 90 in all the sections is a bit difficult

my point is has the institute made it clear to the batch that 90%ile is required in all the 3 sections.

thanks for helping out

Sorry to intrude. But the mandatory disclosure says the cut offs for the last two years are:

All India______ 78.16_____77.48_ 70.48_ 93.12
2008
Orissa________ 60.9_____ 64.09_ 57.55_ 89.55
All India______ 78.77____ 76.08__ 75.99_ 96.21

Like I said the figures mentioned earlier were pure conjectures arising out of meeting ppl with tt kind of scores and the general perception. The management does not mandate cut-offs each yr but comes up with the numbers based on the XAT scores obtained by the aspirants. The mandatory dislcosure is the official document circulated by the management though you rarely come across ppl with the kind of scores tt the document mandates.

A score with the spread as mentioned in the mandatory disclosure does not guarantee calls. I know of a couple of domicile applicants who have scored 93% and yet did not receive calls. Therefore it can be said with reasonable certainty tt you can expect calls with sectional scores of 85+ with a overall of 96%+ keeping in mind the fact tt most ppl here are 97-98+ percentilers each yr. I urge the aspirants to keep this in mind during their XAT preparations. All the best!!!

The admissions are online. You need to fill the form online, take a hard copy and mail it to the admission office.

Yes.There is preference given to the domicile students but there is no fixed % of seats for domicilers. Each yr the number is different. This preference is given at the time of GD/PI. There are no management quota seats.

Re: XIMB : Solution Centre '09 - 26-10-2008, 08:12 PM

aditi,
Yes, for both the courses at XIMB namely PGDM & PGDM (RM), you need to apply seperately. But rest assured because i don't think spending 1000 bugs extra would cost you as much as loosing a seat at the insti !

The seats are 120 and 60 each at both the courses respectively. For the placement figures you can refer to our site www.ximb.ac.in or go through our admission bulletin. And you can trust the figures mentioned therein completely.

I hope i have been able to answer your query.

All the Best !!
