Aditi, no one knows for sure if the essay is taken into consideration for the final evaluation. However, I do know that the interview panel had a copy of my essay in front of them when I was interviewed last yr in Mumbai.
My suggestion to you would be to treat the essay as a free reign and let yourself go wild for 20 min!!!
After all, you never know. They may be impressed by ur creativity and take u on!!!

hi,
i am going to appear for XAT also have applied for XIMB. I have sent the PA form along with the fees 3 weeks ago.But till now i have not got any confirmation mail in my email id or get the brochure .so plz suggest what should i do ? i tried to contact them over ph but the no. did not work.can u plz give me valid no.?
plz help.

you will not get any e-mail from ximb...try your xat inbox..you must have received the confirmation mail from them by now
ximb takes a bit of time for sending the brochure
don't worry it will reach you within few days

hello ximb seniors... i m in my final yr engg(pune university).i dont have
dazzling academic record.
my question is even if after getting good score do i have any chance of getting admission in ximb...

Ur academic record need not necessarily be dazzling. However, i m assuming that you have not flunked 20 times, dropped 3 years and got arrested for pilfering lab equipment!!!
Dont worry abt all this now...just give ur best and get a score that the panel just cannot ignore!

hey!! i sent my application on the 12th of december and i still haven't got any acknowldegement even in my XAT inbox. now this is worrying me as i wont be able to access a bank for the next four days and by then it will be too late. seniors can u suggest something??should i expect any sort of confirmation from XIMB?

you can even call up the admissions office to check
