There is no reservation for catholic students at LIBA, But being part of the minority institution and as part of it social commitment to the catholic community the cut-offs are reduced for catholic students. Once the cut-off stage is cleared there is no preference for anyone. It entirely depends on the GD/PI...
Hope that clears your query

Hello Friends,
I am Venkatesh from Chennai and currently working as a Project Manager in a BPO (medical transcription/healthcare services). Some of my friends told me that my eligibility to do an MBA from a reputed institute is less likely. Here my profile goes:
1. 10th (82%)
2. 3-year Diploma (90%), recognized by DOTE.
3. 2-year BCA degree (58%), distance mode, from Alagappa University.
4. I have 5+ years of work experience and 3 years in management.
I have held various positions before becoming a project manager and got some international certifications in the field of medical transcription.
Please advise me if I am eligible to get admission into a reputed B-school. LIBA is my first choice as I am in Chennai.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

m i eligible to apply if i score gd in xat | yes, u are eligible to apply to LIBA..
just a reminder to all u guys that in the GD/Interview process a good number of params are set to judge for final selection.
In such cut-throat competition ur HSC and SSC marks are also assigned weightage (though the weightage is usually considerably low, also I do not have any idea of the weightage and nor would I be able to find out what that is going to be for 2009.. these weightage are determined by the institute )
Good marks in HSC and SSC is a therefore a bonus and not having high colours can be made up with a good performance otherwise.

in ur case is the degree valid? | I am sure the degree is approved by UGC and DEC, but not AICTE. As far as I know, AICTE approval matters usually with Engineering and other professional programs.
Even degrees obtained from Madras University is not approved by AICTE, but UGC, and DEC only since 2007.
Can you please help me on my eligibility? Please let me know if there are admission officers whom I can contact and clarify this with
