OK ALL ASPIRANTZ PLZ GO THRU THIS POST :
1. most important issue at this moment is the clash of jmet and tiss. well i personally have spoken to the registrar about this issue. as of now the change of day is ruled out. there is a possibility that the timings may be changed. but there also lies a problem. cuz every candidate can at max apply for 3 courses which means 4 hours of papers after which there usually is another hour of MSW (social work) GD. so it would all accumulate to at least 5 hours. now even if TISS keeps its exam from 1pm the formalities will end at 7pm. now thats late for any college to accept and conduct the process on behalf of TISS. nonetheless we are trying to figure out something . will keep u guys posted.
2. about the biographical sketch. folks if there aint anything asked why break ur head ? life's already complicated dont complicate it further.
3. GDPI hmm... cant we address this issue after the exam ? anyways i have posted a lotta stuff on the previous (2008-10) thread u can look into it. written cutoff is 43 marks. 1 hour of common paper for all candidates after which we will have course specific papers.
4. someone was asking about the no. of seats. we have 53 (HRM & LR)for 2011 batch. our batch (2010) has 65(highest ever intake). our seniors (2009) 63. so TISS decided to cut down the intake.
5. about whether to write jmet or tiss. frankly i wud say thats a tough call.tiss has 53 seats . at max 60 including reservations. on the other hand jmet has higher no. of seats. i guess you just gotta decide whether you are really made for this course (HRM & LR). only XLRI competes with TISS in the entire asia-pacific region. but then again we never faced this situation so cant really tell u to go ahead and write tiss or write jmet. we have many in our batch here who have written tiss 3-4 times just to get into this course. perhaps if ur thinkin is similar to theirs go ahead write tiss. we guys are trying our best to get the timings postponed.
6. food for thought :: very important guys. i just wanted to share this piece of info with pagalguys cuz ive taken a lot from here..wanted to give it back. now with 45-50k engineers giving jmet giving tiss is a gamble. think of it this way. what if ur one of the few engineers who chose to write tiss and not jmet. u are automatically ruling out thousands of ppl in competition. its maybe a small risk. but with really high payoffs. and i heard from the admin ppl that tiss is planning to give around 400 calls for those 53 seats . now compare that with 3600 calls for 60 seats (our batch). u guys just need to get the call. but remember its a gamble. there could be a situation where in everyone is thinks this way and ends up giving tiss , thats when jmet givers will be the looters!! :detective: anyways this thing just occured to me cuz i personally being an engineer wudve tended to sacrifice tiss for jmet. hence we may have very few engineers giving tiss...automatically those very few engineers giving have a bloody high possibility of making it in. think about it guys! shoot ur other queries.
