The idea of employees thinking if racism exits in the working manners of a company is determined by the simple fact that what kind of 'culture' exists in the organisation......since culture is undefinable by rules and governed by laws the problem has no short term solutions except for the fact that the HR team can spread a word across the various channels of all being well, and nothing of that sort being practiced in the org, not even in the past.....

You said right it is sensative as well as Tricky. Now the major thing here is Social Analysis politically means If Obama is selected means People want a change and every body wants one same value to the US citizen. You cannot change the Image of the company within a day. It needs a time. It includes both sides of the coin if you support Black people alot in a organization then White people will start feeling and Vice Versa.
From HR prospective we can go for lot of Campaigns and ADs(As you are saying how and What?) in terms of Equlity in the Organization. Taking Social initiatives for the needy ones irrespective of the Ethinic Group. If company gains social respect then every one will start respecting it. Company can go for investment in all the needy areas and making it Globally respected.
