I guess the online application form is not as complex as you guys are making it out to be.. there would be everything given ..plz do no panic and fill it with a cool head ... The pattern would be like XAT .. as most of you would be preparing for all the exams it shouldnt be worlds apart .. chillax guys and its its just like another written exam.. !!!

Could anyone please tell when would be Time of Test? It matters to me as i have marriage of my cousin on 13th Dec in Chandigarh. And i don't know why TISS didn't choose Chandigarh as its center. I have to reach delhi in the morning just to give test.

Dear GEEK,

last year the test was conducted sometime between 9am and 1pm...this year also it shall be somewhere in that range. if u want even more accurate data plz call up the TISS office...numbers are put up on the website.

as per the prospectus the objective test will also have question from ---Foundation of Management (Economics, Sociological and
Psychological). what all topic can b asked/ important in the above given sub topic..??
or if u can guide what to study in the above sub topics???

just 2 months r left for tiss 2008.. i m very tensed hw to prepare for tiss..der is no mock available for tiss ...no sample paper r available on net .

2....tiss seniors if u can upload last year's model test paper issued by tiss..it will b of gr8 help to al tiss aspirants...??

3....is it true dat the difficulty level of tiss will b similar to dat of XAT.??

4. i hve sent my applicatn along with d enclosures and dd to tiss...but i hve not received ne mail regarding the acceptance of application.....how wud i knw abt my application status.!!! ??: ??: ??:

Economics :

I dont have much of a clue..ask any eco grad and they might help you, but it shall basically about the demand supply concepts and how businesses are run on that concept...

Sociological :

How does business affect every day life of a common man ??!!

Policies like SEZ, land displacement and all other social issues related to business would be useful....go through India Together: The news in proportion - Home Page for more details..

Psychological :

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs
Freudian Theories

and how management picks up concepts from the above....

Most importantly, after reading this, try developing a perspective of your own, because that is what expected of you in the GD/PI stage...We dont want the best reader or the best parrot of India, but we want someone who can make sense and think after reading something....i.e an analytical mind....hope Im not sounding a bit preachy....

Just prepare well guys, n leave rest upto the guys in the top floor..!!!

There is no mock test or sample paper because TISS changes its pattern every year, but take up TISS this year as if you're preparing for XAT....and one more, a GK section...

As to your questions :

1. You can call up the admission office to get to know of your application status. We are sorry if you havent received a confirmation yet

2. As to how to prepare, we all have our own way of preparing....( n some like me just dont prepare...!!! :( :( ) Let me know if you are facing some specific problem in your preparation, maybe I would be able to help you much better in that regard.
