Hey dude , can u please give some insight on how to prepare for the business awareness section, and do u have any information regarding the date of TISS for next season , is it going to clash again with JMET or SNAP (i hope it clashes , then i'll focus on TISS only ) .

hey rahul,

to work on your gk( and beleive me that could be the deciding factor for the exam) start reading frontline and any of those business magazines( businessweek,buisness and economy)..I would urge you to take notes of the important stories of that edition..the time you invest now would really pay off..this will definitely give you good knowledge for the test and will help you in your interviews.

the dates are not yet..so no idea..keep your fingers crossed

tiss aspirants: why dont you start a new thread(2010-2011) with links to the older threads..it will make our discussions more structured..shoot any queries and we would be more than glad to answer them

Hi Vidhi

The essay section has been removed since the past few years, so I am guessing you wont have any essay section this year too.

The notification for admissions should be out in 2nd or 3rd week of August, if my memory serves me right...

We never had any essays for our tiss entrance..so i dont think there are going to be any essays this year..

tiss entrance is very easy. and thats why its tough to get a call...plz be thorough with probability when it comes to maths.they asked poissons distribution last year which was like a shock for all of us...and definitely try improving your gk and HR knowledge

reg HR knowledge go thru wikipedia..first read about human resource management on a general basis..and go thru all links related to it which would be posted in that page..This not only makes you ready for the test, but it will help you for ur interview..also go thru last years thread..u will find lots of stuff

if you have loads and loads of time and donno what to do with it..then read an HR book like ashwathappa..for concepts..this just to make your preparation fool proof..do it only if you have time..you need not go to such detail

plz plz go thru previous years thread religously..It will help you a lot when it comes to how to prepare, the books to read, the level of preparation needed, the questions we got....and the rigor that all of us went through..

well guys im pretty dam sure this time they will not clash the entrance exam wid jmet. the administration from its side will try not to let jmet and tiss clash
nevertheless i dont think that should matter at all..
it is still august so the notification will come out in sometime...
there is no hurry as such. rather than preparing for the entrance exam figure out why u want to do this course (HRM & LR) . If u are able to figure out that (four urself!)...im pretty sure noone will stop u from cracking the GDPIs...

well jmet will be conducted on 13th december this time...and it is mentioned on the tiss website that entrance exams are held in the second week of december (link)
anyways it should not be a problem for those who are serious about tiss...
According to the info available on the website we can expect the notification to be out by the end of september
