Be prepared for everything just like a CAT or a MH CET.....TISS papers are very unpredictable in their structures.....they can ask anything under the sun, but they are quite easy if you've read your stuff......
Kindly read about the recent financial meltdowns and inflation....sure-shot questions.... I hope the paper setters dont visit this thread....!!!!

TISS is not like any other b-school and thats why the degree which they award is MA and not MBA.
TISS offers only MA in HRM&LR. They dont have any core MBA programme to offer.

If the cutoff is fixed (60%) then how can it be said that they will give only 400 calls??.....what if more than 400 students clear the cutoff??

Yes, I would partly agree with that....
TISS does not provide you an MBA but M.A that is bcoz HRM used to be considered an art in earlier era and not a management topic; but now it has completely changed.....HR Managers are more n more getting involved in strategy making and mergers and acquisitions..in fact the VP,HR of any company in today's time is the right hand man of the CEO.
So, although its an M.A., we have a huge choice of subjects involving marketing, finance, operations etc in our 2nd year, so if you wanna do core HR, take up core HR electives, else like me, if you want to be a generalist, then pick up electives like financial accounting and marketing management.
Remember, when you enter the tough corporates, it does not matter whether u have an M.A or an M.B.A...all that matters is whether you close the deal or not......

Mate, what AJ said was just an example.....it is being predicted that the number of calls this year shall be relatively less, as we had close to 3600 calls for our batch.
So, I predict the paper shall be much tougher this year, hence getting 60 % shall be far more tougher than in our time....hence, be prepared for that option....

hi
I have a doubt regarding filling up of the form.
I've downloaded the form from the website...
it's 16th question..
they've asked about academic details...
there is this column about " titles of main subjects like economics, sociology etc, "
n below that it's written "sub-1 sub-2"
I'm an engineering student, can someone please tell me what to fill in those 2 columns???

depends on your branch....
I come from an elec n telecom background...so I wrote it down as :
1. Electronics
2. Satellite Communication
Dont worry too much....name those subjects you know the best...as they shall ask you questions in GD/PI on those subjects only....
Tip : Never mention Maths...!!!!!

Is it necessary that you have to put up the subjects related to Engg subjects(for an engineer I mean). I am an Engineer and is there something else I could fill in apart from my technical subjects (I don't wish to fill anything technical ) ??
