Heyy hi ppl.....
I am planning to join Telecomm mngt course .....so need some help from u all ......
1. How this course helpful for person having telecomm bckgrnd...& a one without it....
2. How does the CNAP program helpful (since SITM has signed up with CISCO for an academic partnership....).
3. are placement restricted to telecom sector only....
4. Marketing or systems which 1 is more better in telecomm sector...& in SITM as well.

1.this course is helpful to telecom people as they already have some insights abt the telecom industry and those not from telecom background can develop d same after some time...so it doesnt matter wat ur background is,wat matters is ur zeal to learn
2.hav u done CNAP?here we learn ccna(systems only)....as u wud work in a technical domain,it is expected that u know d basics of networking

hi seniors, i have a few queries:

1) the site does not provide details of placements with respect to each specialisation (ie, Systems and Finance and Marketing and Finance). Could you throw some light on this? are these more or less similar?

2) can you provide some information regarding lateral placements too (people with workex >3 years) ? In your earlier post, you mentioned there is nothing called "lateral placement" as such. So does this mean that freshers and workex junta have the same priority during placements? what is the scenario like ?

3) there is a link about cisco ccna, which says that ccna program is covered as part of curriculum. is this applicable for both specialisations?

1. There are equal opportunities (for placements) for both the specialisation offered at SITM. The companies coming to our campus recruit the students
as per their requirements.
Be assured regarding the placements at SITM. They are more or less the same.
2. It again depends on the recruiters if they are interested in Lateral Placements.Your work ex gives u an advantage wen the screening of resumes is done by the companies for the placements.
3. CCNA is only for Systems and Finance Specialisation. You get a certificate for the course.

have u purchased the prospectus for SITM??
the prospectus contains the security identification key on the 2nd page.u need to use this while registration(to SITM) along with ur snap id

1.How much minimum yr of workexp do u think is significant
.....i hav a 1.3yr of work exp in IT

2.What do u suggest if i want to move in networking sector after Telecommm managment(system)...;-)

1.ur work ex is gud...1yr work ex is considered min and u hav surpassed dat limit
2. well u can go to networking sector but make sure in managerial position..wats d fun doing networking after MBA!!

systems specialization is all about a proper handshake wid technology alongwid management(its MBA!)...u will study subjects like ISTB(dealing wid SQL),wireless technolgy,JAVA,networking-CCNA etc etc..go through d prospectus or site for more details

Hi all,

I have done my engineering in Electronics and telecommnication and have 2 yrs work experience as a software engineer.

1. Can you ll please let me know what will be the kind of job profile after doing MBA in Systems from SITM?
2. Also is the course a combination of systems and finance or it will be just systems?
3. It was mentioned in the thread that cousre includes java...will that dealwith teaching of coding pratices in java? also how will teaching of coding help in MBA? Wont this be a repetition of what engineers have learnt in their engineering course?
