first of all congrats for converting ur call.....ur query has been already answered by mohit....
let me tell u that u r not the only one with such a dilemma, this question comes in every ones mind with a non technical background....to make things clear let me say that u r going for an MBA course and not an MTech here @ SITM u r not required to solve equations or make derivations out here in ur 2 years,so,relax... if u r determined to overcome ur shortcomings ur non- technical background will never be any hindrance...every batch has a mix of people from various backgrounds!
another important thing that u should keep in mind is that u would come under the Symbiosis umbrella when u get into SITM...and let me tell that makes a lot of difference when u go for that precious job at the end of ur course (so dont go for that lesser known institute)
well, at SITM we always believe in giving the right picture, i hope as insiders of SITM we have made ur life somewhat easier!

Hi, Jst can u add a little more on the CCNA/CCNP certifiation for a System and Finance guy and wat kind of prior knowledge is required for it...wat kind of effort and approach is required to start of...Pls further clarify whether the sationery includes the text books for the individual being provided or v hav to share it from the library..?Another thing apart from the studies wat kindof curricular activities and sports events r entertained?

Hi Kaushal

Your chances of making it to consulting totally depends on you. Its not easy to clear a consulting interview. I cannot determine your chances of making it but i can surely tell you that you will get ample opportunities to make it to one of the top consultancies in the world.

Hi Vismay,

So glad that you came up with this question. With all the focus on academics and placements in the forum till now the first question actually on the extra and co-curricular activities has come up.
But before i start on that answer to rest of ur questions
1. No earlier prep required for CCNA
2. TextBooks are Provided as course material , but writing pads is your headache

3. About the Events etc in the college -
As a part of Events committee this year one thing that i can assure you is there wouldnt be a dull moment during the course of the year in the college. We have a host of events planned, be it academic oriented or culturally or sports. Also as an institute we have a history of participating and winning competions and looking forward to the upcoming batch to join hands and be the part of moments of sucess.
We had a sports tournament, rock show, freshers and farewell parties , intra college festivals and many more things last year around. You could expect a similar sort of events this year around.

long time no see...right!! well kudos 2 team SITM for doing a gr88 job out here at PG. hope all the aspirants have made their minds about joining SITM or not. those who are joining.....welcome aboard!! now talking as a member of acads team, i'd suggest all that when u come here have some prior knowledge about the telecom business scenario as it would really help. u guys would be having your Induction which would be a 2 day program with all the eminent personalities coming to the campus, speaking about various topics. so it wouldn't be so gr88 that u guys just sit there amazed. do a bit of homework.

also there was some issue about a person with hotel management joining SITM. well what i'd say is that u guys are not going to be a network admin or something, u guys r gonna b business leaders with an edge in the telecom sector. here ppl r nurtured so that they can deal with the current business scenario. so dont worry coz a person with even Bsc or BCom can excel over here. and as mohit rightly said u guys are not coming to do M Tech, u'll hardly have 3-4 subjects that wud b technical, rest will bowl over everybody!!

also talking abt CCNA certi, guys dont worry u'll get the CISCO's network guide and we have the intranet study material for CCNA. so that wudn't b much of a problem. and believe me here CCNA is a cakewalk for everybody!!!
