Hey, plz check out this link for last years paper. This will also give you an idea of number of questions in XAT.
XAT 2008 QUESTION PAPER & ANSWER KEY

Also, to get 80-85%ile in XAT, about 20-22 marks are enough.

Hi puys,
Like i want to ask that..even i find XAT tough than CAT...the english part i think is a bit harder...is there any expected cutoffs in each section??Like if i want to join XIMB..can i go for only maths n LR n DI so that i can do all with 90% accuracy.English may cause more deductions in marks..there is 1/2 negative for each questns....Seniors plzz guide me in this..

First of all XIMB has sectional cutoffs of around 80%ile so leaving one section or not doing it much will not work out for XIMB.
Second XAT does not have 1/2 negative marking for all the questions. Last year there was 1/4 negative marking for first 6 wrong answers in each section, and after that there was 1/2 negative marking. And last year cutoff show that XIMB and XLRI give equally emphasis to all the sections.

give your best in every section and try to avoid those questions which you are not sure off. because there is variable negative marking in xat. Also give equal emphasis to all the sections.
