Nimbus, no one except yourself can really remove your confusion. But, there are a few things that I'd like you to think about. You don't need to answer them to me, but to yourself. Here goes:
1) Did you lack the skills/knowledge in XAT 08?
2) If yes, can you make up for it this year?
3) Are you prepared to work hard to get into XLRI or any other good/great institutes?
4) Do you believe in your capabilities?
I'd just like to remind everyone who reads this thread, that just because someone is in a reknowned institute does not mean that the person is to be placed on a pedestal. All bschoolers have varied profiles. Some of us (like me) have been pretty average performers throughout. Ultimately, what makes you get here is your level of committment and dedication. If you're prepared to put that in, there should be nothing stopping you!

Aditi, that's totally your call. If you feel you
are going to study at XLRI, by all means, go right ahead, and don't apply elsewhere. Though, I'd say it's prudent to apply to at least 5-6 institutes to manage your risks well.
