i have a query.
Can we change the work experience details once we have completed the XAT registration online.
I am not sure about the work experience i should enter coz of some reasons(as it may come under apprenticeship) so wanted to confirm if i can register myself now, and change the work experience details later.

Please help.

The job details section of the form asks for following info
regarding current job, job2, job3 and current job responsibility

Now I have a job experience of 12 months after graduation, starting july 2007, and ending july 2008.
Presently I am unemployed...
while I took the demo, i filled the form this way..
Current job : blank
Job 2: job that i am talking abt
Current Responsibilities: as in case of my last job....

and it was accepted!

Just want to confirm if this would be the right way for my case..

XAT is just a qualifying examination..and it only makes you eligible for admssion to its affiliated colleges..You have to apply separately to each and every college in XAT, which includes XLRI..

So in short..yes you need separate forms for both!!

I have some different query regarding XAT ..


story of Poor academics!!

I am a student of final Yr. BE. (CS) and i am preparing for CAT 08 .. i don't have much hopes from CAT 08 as i started my preparation few days back..
but i think i have some time left for XAT. but again my college exams will start in last week of Nov.

I don't know what to do.. i plan to take a drop for CAT 09
but then i think that with such a poor profile ...will i get admission next year ?? even if i clear exams with 99+ percentile ....

My Profile

10th 59%
12th 66% (with one yr. drop. in 12th )
BE 60% till now ..

I feel ashamed of my self .... i know i did a mistake .... but ... yaar do i have any right to live... or not ?? i have started working very hard now .....


I have a very strong desire to do MBA

i dint took my exams seriously .....in 10th 12th and BE... i was always busy with my computers R&D work.. i cleared RHCE (Red Hat certification exam ) with all India high 98.8% and i am famous in my college for my programing expertise ....
in my last semester i scored 92/100 in a sub. which of my interest (DBMS).
My performance is outstanding in every thing i took interest in ..

and i have a very strong desire to do MBA from XLRI / MDI ..... i think i will be able to manage my studies their ... but is it possible to get a addmission ..... ??

My worry is .... will they ever give me a admission ...?? ....... and i can take a drop to give it a second attempt ... but i will do that only if i am sure that next year on getting 99+ percentile scores and preparing well for GD PI .. they will consider my case ...

please guide ..

and also tell colleges in XAT for me....(for my profile)

Woooahh!! Steady there, mate! First of all, no acads r poor! Always remember THAT!

Secondly, u shud try hard for both CAT and XAT. These exams are such that ppl with no prep may also do well, while those with lots of prep may fare miserably. You simply need to try hard and not lose ur focus during those crucial minutes in the examination hall. My suggestion to you would be to brush up your basics and simply solve papers...solve, solve and then, solve some more. As for considering taking a drop for CAT '09, that is entirely ur decision, though I would ask you to consider all pros and cons carefully before making up your mind.

For the list of colleges subscribing to XAT, chk out the XLRI website for XAT. You should find the list there.

My peers will tell u loads of things. And they r correct too. All u need to remember is one thing...

AS LONG AS U SATISFY THE MINIMUM CRITERIA FOR A COLLEGE, THEN U R NOT AT A DISADVANTAGE...
So, study hard, crack the exam, and then think bout the further process...

Can anyone on the thread tell me the main features of the PM&IR and BM courses..I just do not have a clue abt the programmes..

->Criteria and work ex required to get a call for these progs
->percentile cut off in XAT for both the progs.
->profiles of the companies visiting for placements and average packages.

You can add some more from your side, for what you feel relevant mentioning.
