The course being speciallised and focussed on operations, i guess there must be some special criteria for short listing the ppl with work ex.
Please let me know if you have any idea on this.
My profile:
Xth- 85%
XII- 69.6% (screwed)
B.Tech- 7.26/10 (CGPA)
from NIT jaipur in Metallurgical engineering.
Co currics: average.
Extra currics: very good.served student council in XIIth and B.Tech. Organised and participated in quizzes, dramatics and cultural events in school and colleges.
work ex: 28+ months (till sept 0 as s/w engg in an indian IT mnc.working for one of the leading heavy engg/oil and gas based german client in supply chain domain.exposure to SAP.

MBA Interests: Supply chain/Operations/manufacturing/logistics and finally joining Manufacturing/Metal/Mining sector.
Last years SNAP: Just 49 ,but didnt apply for SIOM then.
This year's target: SIOM,SIIM(SCM) and few more which are reputed in these fields.

Any comments/suggesions on the suitability of this for operations at SIOM?

Friends, as far as the calls are concerned, you know that SIOM gives profile based calls and in such a case everything is relative. Your chance of getting shortlisted depends on the profile of those who have applied to SIOM. Around 800 GD/PI calls are given from all the applications received. As of now, I can only say that all of you have good profiles and you can compensate for certain things where you didn't perform well by other parameters such as extra curricular achievements.

Hey guys.. I guess I am posting after a really long time on PG.. Heard abt this thread over the dinner table in the mess..

For all the aspirants.. SIOM giving profile based calls does not mean you can take SNAP with ease.. Guys, my suggestion is that you concentrate on the test and once you get your scores then you can compare your profile with the other aspirants.. But the first thing first.. Prepare well for something that is in your hands as of now..

As of now what we can provide you on this thread is just our experience of the previous year's process which, I guess, is already being handled efficiently by Shree and Varun.. You both rock PG!!!

All the best to all the aspirants.. Work hard and study harder..

Hi pravinmc,

As far as the placement statistics are concerned, SIOM had 100% placements with highest domestic salary of 12.25 LPA and an average domestic salary of 7.1 LPA. This was the story of the second batch of SIOM. I am not sure about the lowest salary, but I guess it was around 5.5 LPA for some company offering good profile. This reflects the level of confidence that SIOM has been able to create just within 3 years of its inception.

SIOM being a constituent of Symbiosis International University (in other words Nashik campus of Symbiosis International University) offers MBA degree in Operations. If you want to specialize in Operations, SIOM is one of the best institutes offering MBA in Operations you can apply to.

SIOM gives profile based calls which includes everything starting from your academics, work-experience, co-curricular & extra curricular activities. Calls are based on profile and SNAP score. Calls can come at even low scores with excellent profiles. A high SNAP score won't guarantee a sure-shot call.

It's up to you to decide which institutes you consider worth applying. I have told true version of the story. Your profile looks good. Just prepare for SNAP and apply for SIOM if you are interested. All the best.

Hello Every one!

After a sad exit during last time admissions, I just could not take it more, felt really bad and thought would never try again for MBA. But some where could not hold it, saw the ad for SNAP in the newspaper and after much thinking .... thought to give it a last try... this time.

Varun, its with ur words to be together at the mall's inauguration... me back on this theard.

I hope D&G is there, my regards to him and all the seniors here.
