For us (seniors), there are two groups namely Yahoo group which is our official group (includes faculty & staff also and is used for communication for official purposes) and the other one is Gmail group which is used for unofficial communication (includes students only).

Someone from you can take the initiative to make two groups. But make sure you approve only those to become a part of the group who are your batchmates at SIOM.

Just for the info of those who don't have the laptops and are willing to buy one: SIU is likely to facilitate the bulk purchase of laptops this time for all institutes falling under its umbrella. If college hasn't provided you this information, one of you can talk to the director so that she can take it further.

I will be joining SIOM on 1st of july 09... I would like to knw a few details .

1. How r the faculty members? and how r the classes conducted? will it be interactive n practical based... ?

2. How is the hostel and the mess food? is it compulsory to take up accomodation in the hostel or can v stay outside?

3. wat is a normal day like in SIOM? wen does the classes begin n end?

4. i've already missed the first few days(all thnx to my university) pls can anyone from the current batch tell me wats happenin?

Looks like u too a fresher from VTU!
Same here..but unlike you i managed to be in Nashik to attend the 1st 2-3 days n came back for my xams. I'll be reaching dere again on the 28th of June...
You might not get any reply from any of our batchmates as they're currently in Viapasna. And to answer some of ur questions.. its compulsory to stay in the Hostel, 3 in a room and food's pretty ok. The whole of the 1st month was only different orientation sessions and the 10 day long Vipasna (which ends on the 30th i believe...). So acdemically we are not missing much. But i hear..our fellow batchmates have had just loads of fun during this time! We sure missed dat!!

Hello Dhruba,

Academic session will be starting from tomorrow morning 9:00 am. So far it was non-academics session that was going on.
Faculty members, campus atmosphere is what you'll be experiencing tomorrow. Right from the first day we are having fun here, don't know about how academics will welcome us
Mess food, hostel facilities are all good and we have 2 hours of early non-acads part every day morning from 6:00 am to 8:00 am..

Ahh.. Arey come tomorrow .. You'll get a detailed time table..

i want to know how much weighted SI0M give ppl who hav WE in der family business. i have 25 months experince in my business with my elder brother .should i mention dis experience in application form ?????
also is my experience is equivalent to 25 months xprince of IT or any other field xprince ??

12th-57.6%
after dat
25 months xprince in my own business
now b.tech-65%(till 6th sem)...
after dis profile should i apply 4 SIOM????...senior plzzz..

News for any change in the fees has not come yet, so probably it will remain same. If anything happens it will be for all Symbi colleges.

See family business is also a business so its worth mentioning in the form. And why not everybody is encouraging entrepreneurship, and thats good you are already into it. It will be treated as just another work exp, your profile, learnings and work will be seen so mention that too. As long as your profile goes its good.
Score good in SNAP and you have a chance of getting shortlisted, also your extra curricular activities matters. ATB
