As far as summers are concerned, we are not authorized to disclose the details till the entire batch is placed for their summers and official report is out.
Thanks Varun,

But has the company numbers dropped??

It's difficult to analyse this thing at this moment. On the contrary, there have been some companies (big names) which have visited (or shown interest in) SIOM for the first time for recruiting summer interns. It's beyond doubt that SIOM will again have 100% summer placements. In fact, for summers average stipend is likely to increase.

Hi,

Can some one please throw some light on the profiles that were offered in SAP for the last year's batch!
I am currently working with an MNC in SAP technology ( technical side) for past two and a half years, wanna pursue my career in SAP itself ( In SD / MM). Was interested in knowing the profiles offered?..........

Hello Everyone,

I am having an experience of 30 months in the IT Infrastructure industry. I am specialised in Vertias Netbackup. I am working in backup operations for global customers. I am intersted in Operations Management. Please can any passout from SIOM let me know how much of scope do I have persuing this course? What are probable cutoffs for SIOM ? How many students pursuing this course are from IT back ground ?

Regards,
Chaitanya.

SIOM offers SAP based ERP training as a part of the curriculum and companies have been offering very good profiles such as SAP consultants and many more. I'll have to check with seniors for more profiles offered by companies in this area as I am presently in the first year and don't have complete knowledge about it.

Hi Chaitanya,

As far as 2008-10 batch is concerned, it has 85% experienced people with 45% of the experienced candidates being from IT alone. Refer to the URL: http://siom.in/batch-2008.aspx to know more about it.

There is no single cut-off based on SNAP and your profile (academics, work-experience, co-curricular & extra-curricular activities etc.) can compensate for relatively low SNAP score.

We have companies coming from a wide range of sectors including consultancy, manufacturig, retail, IT, ITES, BFSI, FMCG, automobile etc. people have an ample opportunities to retain/switch to the sectors of their respective interests.

Hey Varun,

Thanks a bunch for the information.

Last year I had appeared for SNAP. I was a pathetic performer then. I got a low score of 42.5.
My acads :- Xth - 82% & Xth - 78.5% (PCM - 89%)
B.E. Information Technology (Mumbai Univ) - 66.67%
+ 30 months of exp in a MNC.

Hope to get thru with a good score this time.

You have a good profile. You haven't menioned anything about your co-curricular/extra-curricular. Still, I feel you have pretty nice chances of getting a call at a decent score (which of course can be predicted only after the SNAP). All the best!
