hi guys,

i got 87 in X 92 in XII and 86 in BE EIE 2008 pass out...

having above average extra curriculars and pretty profile..

writng snap for the first time...

am average in entrance exams... any idea about how much pertile or marks required to get into siom and via management...??
do sort me out plz..

You have very good academic record. And above average extra-curricula and profile should fetch you a call in my opinion even at comparatively low SNAP score. I strongly recommend you to apply to SIOM as your chances of getting the call seem to be good enough. Management Quota admissions procedure will be carried out after the normal admissions. I'll communicate about that later on this thread. All the best.

The application form can be filled online at URL: SIOM E-Admission Form 2009

Candidates can fill the online admission form at above URL, download the filled application form complete in all respects and send it directly to SIOM along with the Demand draft of Rs. 1500/- in favour of “Director, Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management” and payable at Nashik. Such candidates shall receive the prospectus after the receipt of the DD.

Got Placed in a Company called Keane India Ltd, but didnt get doj till today!!(2007 passout)
Extra curricular
Passed NCC A and B certificates
Attended Annual Training Camp (NCC)
Won many competitions for the college in skits,mimicry,mimes,mute beat
held at BITs Pilani,Goa Campus
Took part in interclass Cricket and Football tournament won the trophy.
Work experience
Was working as a Procurement engineer in a rubber factory
took care of purchases of rubber along with the quotations and tendering
of contracts to the vendors.
Major responsibility was to see that vendors delivered in time and to follow up the vendors in case they dont.
Job involved excessive travelling to follow up the vendors
Also introduced safety standards in the Industry as working conditons
of the workers was poor.Introduced saftey masks and made it compulsory for them to use whilst working.
worked there for one year and then joined to teach in my own college (that is wen i came to knw Keane has ditched me)
took care of subjects like machine design and few practicals.

Academically, you you scored 1st division throughout and you have decent extra-curricular activities to your credit. You have a good profile in my opinion. However, chances of getting a call would depend on the merit in the profile & SNAP scores of other candidates who apply to SIOM. Therefore, it's difficult to predict your chances of getting a call. I would recommend you to apply as you have a good probability of getting shortlisted with a decent SNAP score.
