Hi Spiky,

IIT-kgp calls about 950 people for the process but what chance do people who have low ranks, say 650-750+, stand of actually converting the call? Can you tell me lowest convert rank from your batch, if possible.

I personally know some people who had a rank of 912 converting.. so dont worry..once u get a call, if u have a good gdpi u have a good chance of converting.

Hi RD,

two yrs back I had converted my VGSOM call (though i hadnt joined it due to personal reasons) with a rank of 1628. Your ranks dont matter much after you have been called for the i/v. If you are good you will surely make it. Jus concentrate on the GD/ Iv ...

Yeah galtz is correct, once you get a call, dont worry about your rank... just concentrate on the gdpi...

I am planning to do my MBA in IT n Systems.

I wished to know how many students hv opted for the IT & Systems specialisation at VGSOM (either as a single or part of dual specialisation)

I feel IIT's are probably the best place for this specialisation, when compared to others

Please guide me

Hi,

The batch strength is not fixed as the second yr batch has about 110 folks n second yr abt 80...so tat means tat VGSoM takes only ppl which qualify its complete admission criteria and we dont play by a fixed number!

Hi Tejaz,

One of the good things about a general MBA(which we have at VGSOM) is that there is no specialization concept and you can mix n match the electives you want in the 4th sem as you want it, so you can have 2 marketing electives, 2 systems electives and 1 of corporate governance, etc, etc, etc...

Of course, when it comes to IT & Operations, them being technical domain related ones, IIT's are one of the best places to do an MBA (although there are other highly specialized B-schools also which focus on these subjects, although cannot discuss that on this thread :wink: )
