Institutes generally dont come out with their weightages , will see if i can get anything from the college... but my personal opinion is if you have a good gd pi, irrespective of your rank you have a good chance of converting ..

According to Career Forum and IMS my scores are:

VA: 14.75.
LR: 16.25.
QA: 17.25.
DI: 15.25.

OA:63.25( Excluding the two LR questions which are ambiguous).
Else: 65.25.

I have a work-ex of 36 Months in SAP.
Good Past acads & great extra curricular.

Please if you could guide me to what are my chances of getting a call from VGSOM.

What factors are used to give a call as per the Dean's Message in pagalguy the institute uses multiple parameters o give calls.

i think you have a pretty good chance of getting a call from VGSoM as per
ims and time cutoffs.. but can say for sure only once the ranks are out..

Hi Anubhav,

U hav a great chance of securing a high rank.After the JMET results u hav 2 apply separately in different IITs 2 get calls.Calls r given on the basis of rank,past acads, work exp.

The present fee structure in VGSOM is Rs. 65000/- per semester including tution fee,hostel fees,mess fees,medical premium etc.

Best of luck for SNAP,NAMT,XAT,FMS.

Sir, I am getting around 52-54 marks OA, I am working in a reputed automobile company & have a work ex of 18 months as of now. Do I stand a chance to get a call for GD/PI form VGSOM?

Thanks a lot for taking out time from your busy schedule to reply to my querries!!
I am very much looking forward to a call from VGSOM!!

Fortunately my marks have also gone up owing to the increase in number of ambiguous questions to OA:69.25. Personally, how do you rate the overall experience of VGSOM in terms of depth of knowledge and brand of VGSOM!! I am not the one to care about placements I believe in great education!! How is VGSOM handling recession.

hey pak, you will have to wait till the ranks come out... last time as far as i know ranks around 950 were called for the gdpi.. but that depends on how many people apply...so wait till the scorecard comes out... after that we can tell you whether to apply or not..

hey anubhav, the advantage of being a management school under the IIT system is that you can utilize the whole IIT infrastructure, this is one of the biggest plus points of VGSoM, being one of the biggest IIT's infrastructure wise we hv a very big advantage.
placements also prove it.. we had a very good summer placement season inspite of the whole recession and we are expecting the same thing with our final placements as well..
ranking wise we have been rated as the 13 best government bschool by livemint.. so start preparing...

Hello Spiky, Its good to know that the summer placements have been great even after these recession times. I have heard a lot about the Foreign Placement Policy that is being followed by VGSOM, that it did not allow foreign placements till a year back. They have started opening up since this year. I believe that IITKGP being the oldest inst. to set-up will have alumni holding great posts abroad, and there are chances that with a good focus on foreign placements and alumni VGSOM will one day challenge the foreign placements of other great schools in India, even IIM's. What's your take on this fact!! I also feel that the biggest advantage of VGSOM over others is the 6 month long internship, in a few years you may see all the other gr8 institutes following that. Yeah they have opened foreign placements, but dont think it will get reflected much in the final placements this year cos of the global financial situation, yeah a big advantage of VGSoM is the 6 month internship... you are increasing the chance of getting a PPO from the company u r interning in..
