Let me answer your questions one by one

1) After you appear for NMAT, results will be out around after a month o so.
2) Then you have to apply online for GD/PI...and select a slot as per your choice...Attending GD/PI is compulsory even if ur rank is 1 in NMAT exam.
3) After GD/PI ur total marks(written exam+GD+PI) will be added (if you have work ex those marks will be added too) and you get a final NMAT rank.
4) Now at the time of result of final rank...all the ranks above 300 are given the offer to apply for management seat. If you are interested you could apply and keep.
5) Now say you have accepted the management seat...but due to cancellations...say now merit rank has reached ur number...then ur management seat will be converted to merit...and next person in list of management quota will be called.

after the final merit ranks are declared, u will be either selected,waitlisted or rejected.
waitlisted and rejected people will be given the instructions on the final results page itself about the mq seats.right now concentrate on preparation instead of mq seats etc.

as per the question papers as NMAT doesn't allow to take the paper back so no such paper exists.. the papers available with the coaching institute or online are purely based on memory.. but they quite sufficiently potray the pattern of questions that come in NMAT. .. Hi,I believe NMAT has 4 sections,viz Math,GK,DI,english. I am a BE in Electronics n have 1 and half yr work ex with a listed company on BSE...I wil be appearing for NMAT this year, I am not that great with Maths,but good at english and DI...do i have a good chance for NMIMS? ...

NMAT doesn't have GK section in the xam .. please refer to previous threads..

I have a couple of friends who got into NMIMS this year...they said that GK is there for NMAT written test. My main query was if i stand any chance of getting into NMIMS? cos my acads in engg are not that great as i hav a drop of 2 yrs during engg...thanks a ton in advance

dude.. there is no gk as far i m concerned.. n this year also they hav not thought of including it.. if by chance it is there they will be mentioning tht in their brochure.. which wil be out shortly.. so please hav patience.. n as far as ur drop is concerned. u got to give gud excuses in ur interview..
all stand equal chance of clearing the written n gd.. interview is soley based on how u present urself in front of the panel.. n how u convience.. thm..

Ok, thanks for your inputs, i do hav a strong work-ex as i was managing an offshore team of 15 resources...i believe that should work in my favor.Is there any separate written exam for the sectoral MBA at NMIMS (global business,services managemnt etc?)

Yes, NMIMS does conduct a separate exam (NMAT for Focussed Programs) for admissions to Focussed Programs - Global Business, Services, Capital Market, Banking, Retail, Pharma and Acturials. The notification of the same can be expected soon.

Dude me too in a situation just like yours. flunked and lost 2 yrs in engg. Work ex 27 months now...same offshore lead on a project of GE commercial finance while working with TCS. So I can maybe show off that thing more and try to eclipse out on my poor acads. I know convincing is a bit hard but if you are strong about your point no one can stop you.

By the way I went through every post on this NM thread and observed that no one has realised that NMAT2008 is following an online registration this year unlike the paperwork till last year. They already opened this process on 1st September. Strangely no one in PG has noticed that or maybe in some other thread this topic might have been raised. I have already registered myself online and got an NMAT id. The interface is very much like the SNAP registration as it is managed by some firm called Blueshift. So this time you need to take a printout of your payment advice form and deposit 1600 cash in axis bank. Credit card payment is also possible.
