Just some more points about last year's paper:

150 questions from 3 sections english - 40 Reasoning/LR - 50 and Quants 60.
Time was 2 hours. The paper was easy and surprisngly there were around 20 calculation intensive questions( RS Agarwal type) in quants.

A score of 85 was teh cutoff. A score of 100 was a real good score last year which fetched a rank of 300+.

Speed is the key for acing NMIMS.

To find a relatively cheaper shelter you may need to move a bit far from the college areas like Andheri(E) Jogeshwari etc.

yeah there was sectional cutoff but it was too low.. but the overall cutof was high (85). So don't bother about sectionals. It is jsut to ensure that u attempt all the sections.

Hmmm.. It looks so easy to get thru NMAT when m actually in here... Question paper was easy, GD was OK and PI was good.. So was for 45K students....

Just few points:

--> 85 was cutoff of total 150 and to be precise 85 was quite achievable with a nice speed, but the point m trying to make is "Is 85 gave u the certain push for a bigger risk margin in GDPI..." answer is no... score around 95-100 was a good score last year where u can get thru with a good GDPI, above 100 score was like bonus..
-->For freshers remember u have already lost 10 marks out of 30 coz of no work ex.. though a work ex cant be sure of the total 10 as they are grilled abt the work and given the mark accordingly...
--> increase the speed, NMAT in last few year checks for speed.

As you metioned above that a fresher loses 10 out of 30....so is the actual weightage to academics, NMAT scores and so all clearly specified???? If so then can you plz tell the exact weightages to each of them..

as far as the last years critirea goes, the break up was as follows:
nmat score 150 marks
gd 10 marks
pi 10 marks
work ex 10 marks

i was a fresher and converted with a rank of 148 in written.my final rank was 109 after gd/pi.
so even if freshers lose out on 10 marks alloted to work ex, u can always push ur overall score up by doing well in gd/pi...i scored 15.5 in gd/pi.
even though the weightage seems very much skewed towards written score, in the gd/pi stage the standards are very high.
