hello ....respected freinds .......

well ..can any body suggest me ..do i have a stand to get admissions on this particular academic background of mine`s /...they are

class X-70 %
class XII- 57%
B.TECH(IT)--57% aggregate till now ....me a final year student

good in Group Discussions ........

and participated in much extra curricullar activities till......
do i have a stand ......of getting call if i get around 90 percentile or near about that ....please suggest ....or i should leave my aim to become an MBA .....thanks...do i have any chance to make it through on this profile if i clear the exams ....????????

Hi Friends,

If someone does not has that sensation/urge/interest to do MBA, please do not join any institute just for the sake of it.
Though Academic background/profile matters in the selection process of B-school admissions, it is not the sole criterion/factor of selection.
So, if any of u PG's think, that just because you have received low grades in Board or University exams you are not/will not be eligible for admissions is a misconception.
B-schools always give preference/weightage to previous academic scores, so as, not to bias few students, but to definitely not demotivate the scholarly/high academic acheivers & give them their due weightage.

Will someone else decide/suggest/direct you, whether you should leave your aim/ambition of pursuing MBA or not ??



Weightage given for Past Academic Record and Work Experience was 10 marks each, out of a total of 150 marks,last year, only oce the candidates are selected for GD/PI round.

buddy ..what is done is done ...u cant improve that ...
however ....u can definately improve on your B.tech marks
which just might give u the push ...

With regards to your aim ..i strongly suggest that ...when u decide something .Do go and do it no matter how much effort it requires !!!

Concerning your query i would say ..that if u get a good percentile
then ofcourse u have a chance of being selected ...depending on the way how u r able to project urself in the gd , group task and the interview.

1) Fill up the online application form
2) You can pay the application fees online or send a DD for the specified amount to the SIBM Bangalore address i.e
Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bangalore
(Constituent of Symbiosis International University (SIU))
#95/1, 95/2, Electronics City, Phase-1, Hosur Road, Bangalore-560 100
Do mention your name, SNAP ID and SIBM Bangalore Application Id at the back of the DD.
3) Prospectus would be dispatched to the address mentioned in the form once payment is received

Any queries or concerns regarding the process can be posted on the thread and we would assist you with the same.

hi , i want to know that to get good % in mumbai uni is not easy compared to other state university so student from mumbai will going to loss acad marks bec i have seen some people with 80-87 % in graduation from other university so they will get more marks (even 1-2 marks make larg difference) so how do this work during selection. and gd calls are given on what basis persentile or rank(total marks)?

Hi Sejal

Just to reiterate selection criteria would largely be based on performance in GD, PI and the SNAP score. Work-ex, academic performance and extra currics would only form a small part of the selection criteria. It is a known fact that different unviersities across the country follow different evaluation procedures. But just to inform you SIBM-B or for that matter any other top b-school would always have a diverse group of students from almost all states of the countries and from different colleges and universities of the country.

The current batch in SIBM-B has a work ex- fresher ratio of about 55:45 which clearly suggests even though work ex is a criteria for selection,it doesnt actually hamper a freshers chance of getting in by much. Similarly in a large group of applicants Academic performance as well wouldnt make a huge difference to ones chances. If anything would it would be the GD, PI and the SNAP score.

SNAP does not give you score in terms of percentile. Scores are given as total marks out of the maximum possible with marks scored in individual sections. Therefore GD/PI calls would also be on the basis of marks obtained.

So just relax dont let your mind be occupied with such trivial matters, concentrate on the Entrance tests and prepare well for the subsequent GD/PI procedure.

By the way even i belong to Mumbai University and know atleast 10 other of my batchmates from MU. ( So no reason to worry)

The online admission and the website is being handled by the admn. team at SIBM Bangalore in collaboration with Smart Apply who are a solutions provider. You can definitely be rest assured that the payment is through a secure channel and that data privacy and protection is certainly ensured.

If there are still some concerns bothering you (honestly there shouldn't be any i believe) you can send the payment through a DD to the address mentioned following which the prospectus would be despatched.
