Hii Richa!!
Well..I understood that U haven't joined any organisation..and only preparing for exams. It has no negative impact. But If u had joined some organisation, it would have helped u compensate the gap ur career graph creates..(Its not bad though!!). But As sar as SIBM is concerned..Your SNAP Score is what matters a lot..If u secure very gud scores and perform decently in GDPI..U have got very gud chances..Work Ex and career comes next. So Keep up the good work u r doing for the exam....Poor souls like me (88%,83%,79%) couldnt clear the cut off for any of the colleges last year..

Hi Nawaz and all other NRI students,

Admission process for students of foreign national is as follows :-

They are required to give a test, generally in the month of May or as communicated in the admission brochure.
In addition to this they need to appear for the GD/Pi process.

While, admission process for non-resident indian students is as follows :-

They are not required to appear for any written test but need to undergo the GD/PI process, most probably in the month of May.

Seats at both the institutes is 15 % over and above their normal intake capacity of 180 & 150 seats.

Untill last (this) year students are not required to take GMAT, though if taken, is always beneficial.:boat:

Foreign National category may have to submit for English Proficiency throught he IELA test.

IELA is the International English Language Assessment Test. It is the first of its kind, international level test of proficiency in English, in India. It measures ability to communicate in English across the main language skills of reading and writing. The test is ideal for people who intend to study where English is the medium of instruction and the language of communication.

The test was introduced by Symbiosis in 2007 as the solution for students who have done their elementary education in languages other than English, but desire to study at Symbiosis institutes, where the medium of instruction is English. The test assesses whether a candidate is ready to study in English at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. Admission of foreign nationals to Symbiosis courses is based on the results of these modules.

The IELA score is recognized by all the Symbiosis institutes as a trusted and valid indicator of the students’ ability to communicate in English.

The test has been designed by renowned teacher – scholar administrator of international repute.

Hi Richa and all other students having low graduation scores,

Though much weightage is not assigned to the grad. score while compiling the final merit list scores, yet such students are often grilled during their Interviews.
So, if you can carry off well during your PI, then in most practical cases you need not worry further.

Same is the case with people not having work experience (who took a drop for studies) : they need to defend their arguments well during the interviews.

For ex. we have people here who took a drop from their jobs, did not take up any job and still comfortably making it into SIBM.

Thus, everything matters how do u perceive the things and whether u are able to justify your stand or not.

Please shoot all your further queries, so that others too may get benefited.

Hi Richa
Its always good to be as honest as possible during interviews.
Being honest is always appreciated.

You can prepare for GD/PI through mock GD/PI's conducted by various coaching institutes. That would definitely boost your confidence.
Also constant reading and keeping abreast of the happenings around is a must.
If you are a fresher, know your academic concepts that u studied during your graduation well. And also generally prepare for some cliched questions like Why MBA??,What specialization??,Strengths, weakness??,Career Goals??

Hope i have answered your queries
