Hi Shankla
I am afraid no guesses from anyone here. SNAP has followed different patterns in the preceeding years in terms of level of difficulty, no. of questions, types of questions etc. Also individual colleges follow a different pattern for shortlisting candidates for GD/PI process. SCMHRD gives profile based calls, SIIB does not have sectional cutoffs.
Hence unless the SNAP scores are out one cant guess cutoffs.
All I can say is try maximising your score by performing well in each of the sections.
All the best

Can u please suggest any strategy for SNAP....I am comfortable in GK & Eng but not so in QA & DI...
QA & DI are 2 sections which i will be attempting at the end but at the same point in time have to look at the DI seriously as its of 60 marks....

Hi Shankla
always try and attempt the section that you are most comfortable with first. Last year there was a section in DI which was worth 2 mks each (rest of the sections questions were worth 1 mark). So you have a chance there to enhance your score. But remember you have to display proficiency in all sections. Try and solve as many mock tests as you can. It will help you enhance your speed and accuracy and would help you to decide allocation of time to each section. It will give you a fair idea about the strategy you need to follow and would give you the confidence to go about the test no matter what the pattern is.
Thanks

[quote=gargkrohit;1206848]Hello All
hi everybody
this is Shyamananda.First I want to wish you all from SIBM BANGALORE for doing this great job by helping the new mba aspirants.
I also have some queries regarding admission.
Should i take 2 seperate admission forms for 2 campus of SIBM?
please tell me that whether the GD/PI is conducted for both the campuses together or seperately?
& the last thing what abt the placement?
What abt the faculties?
I am a student who has a background of B.Sc(CHEMISTRY HONS.),& my percentage in graduation is 56%, with that percentage can i compete with others in gd/pi session?

Hi Shyamananda
1) You would have to take 2 separate admission froms for SIBM Pune and SIBM Bangalore.
2) GD/PI would be conducted separately for each of the campuses.
3) Placements would also be held separately at both the campuses.
4) Both Permanent and visiting faculties of both SIBM Campuses are of very good quality and comparable to the standards of the top b-schools in the country
4) For admission to SIBM, your performance in GD/PI and your snap score would hold a great deal of weightage as compared to your marks.
So concentrate more on the SNAP test and the subsequent GD/PI.
Hope your queries are answered.
Thanks

My sincere advice is to build some passions/ develop some hobby which will set you apart from the crowd.
Not only the IIM's each n every other college wants to have a student/ class profile which is as unique as it can be. Some Extraordinary persons, something different, which not only tells them about your personality but also that you can prepare simultaneously for the studies.
Judge yourself : Two persons making it thru for Interviews, one with work-ex or in final year college and the other being an idle person, whom would the panel select.

Hi Sumit,
Firstly, I must say that a great PR job is being done by the students of SIBM-B. Hats-off! I'm saying this because I'm sure there must be a number of other aspirants who were not really sure about the new baby of SIBM. My point of view (and of many many others, I'm sure) prior to the analysis of this thread, was whether the new institute will be able to keep-up with the standard of the flagship institute, and now, post analysis of the thread, I'm pretty much sure that the number of SIBM-B applications will many-fold this time. Great job indeed!
Now my question and concern: I have an average acadamemic background;
X-73%
XII-71%
Grad-73%(BMS)
After my graduation, instead of opting for MBA immediately, I took a full-time job in Mumbai and after getting my back-side whipped I realised that completing MBA is far better than getting hooked-up in a lower level job. So after only 3.5 months I quit my job (some 40 days before SNAP), believing that with some effort I'll be able to crack the tests and came back to prepare myself for the entrance tests.
Keeping my fingers crossed I do well!
I know 3.5 months experience is nothing, but my question to you, with regard to what you wrote, is: will the short span of my job create some "negative" impression on the interviewers(if I reach that level). You also talked about developing some passion, or hobbies, so can I get a little help in the same regard as well.
Regards,
Nitish Kumar
P.S. I'd love to study in that gorgeous campus of SIBM.

Hi guys,
I guess this being first batch, the final placement is yet to take place
So How are summer placement figures at SIBM ?
Also I was kinda of surprised to see SIIB way below SIBM Bangalore in PG rankings!!
Any suggestion on that?
P.S :- I know we have rankings to compares B-schools and these threads are totally inappropriate for that. Its just i am confused as to who and where could i get some information on that and who better than SIBM-B students.

Hi Aslesh
First of all I must say your Acads and extra curriculars are pretty commendable. It will definitely help you with the admission process. However as reiterated in the previous posts the SNAP test score and the GD/PI performance would definitely have more weightage in the final selection process than Acads and extra currics. So I wud say with a good enuff SNAP score to get a GD/PI call, your chances should be very good. Also Work-Ex would definitely be an added advantage.
Prepare well for the SNAP test. All the very best
Hope your queries are answered.
