The notification for JMET 2009 is out. Joint Management Entrance Test 2009 (JMET 2009) is the first step in the process of admission to the MBA programmes @ IITs.



Some details about JMET 2009:

1) Organizing Institute:IIT Kanpur
2) Registration (online):The registration process for JMET 2009 has started and ONLINE submission of the JMET 2009 application can be done by accessing the website of IIT Kanpur and following the instructions contained therein - http://www.iitk.ac.in/gate/jmet/onlineproc.php
A draft of Rs.750 (Rs.350 only for SC/ST candidates) in favor of "Organizing Chairman, JMET 2009" payable at Kanpur will be required prior to online registration.
3) Instructions for JMET app process - JMET :: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
4) Last date for Registration: 8 October 2008 (online)
5) Date of exam: JMET 2009 will be conducted on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 10:00 hours to 13:00 hours

The JMET website says we need DD from nationalized bank......is that means we cant make DD from pvt banks???? for e.g. ICICI

Hi,
Yes, DD's from private banks wont be accepted. The DD's can be made out only from banks like SBI, PNB, UCO, Corporation bank, Andhra Bank, Canara Bank to name a few.

List of Nationalised Banks are as below
1. DENA BANK
2. CANARA BANK
3. BANK OF BARODA
4. SBI
5. PNB
6. UCO BANK
7. CORPORATION BANK
8. BANK OF INDIA
9. ANDRA BANK
10. C.B.I (CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA)
11. INIDIAN BANK
12. ORIENTAL BANK

Private banks are follows

1. ICICI
2. HDFC
3. IDBI
4. UTI
5. ABN AMRO and many more, would get back to you on the issue, as per interpretation from Notification DD's cannot be accepted from Non Nationalised banks!!

This nationalised bank term is somewhat misleading , Througout my life i have filled hundreds of form and always send dd of ICICI or HDFC and they were always accepted . Look what I have found on the RBI website. SBI and its associates are not nationalised banks .Reserve Bank of India
And look even wikipedia says the same thing List of banks in India - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In my opinion by nationalised bank they mean it shud be a nationwide bank not some kind of a co-operative or jandu balm bank .

Probably yea.. that does sure make sense.. but then since there is an ambiguity in the language used in the JMET brochure.. i would rather suggest you to get the draft made from one of the above mentioned banks....if nethng it would make u safer..
