I have a querry bout the fee submission.. I have already converted to IIT R.. But I am in waitliat in other institutes.. So i want to pay the fees and get a seat in IITR.. But if i get my other calls converted i will want to refund the fee from IITR.. So how much refund we will get out of 50K we submit...
Looking for a quick reply as hv to get d draft made and post it...

Though i wont be able to conveys any significant information, but i would suggest to contact the admission office..
only thing we are aware about sponsored candidates is that we know the fee for them is Rs 60000(as mentioned in the information brochure) with the condition that fee are subject to revision.

Dear Seniors,

I have approx. 3yrs of exp. as Consultant in BSS Domain, now that I am looking to do MBA from IITR, I have apprehensions regarding job prospects after 2yrs..espl. in this recession time..I will appreciate if you can throw some light on Companies visiting the campus and profiles been offered to exp. candidates..in last 2-3yrs (incl. this yr)..
also which is the most predominant stream in terms of no. of offers in placements like consulting,finance,marketing,operations?

Scenario regarding placement is good. The placement figures have come just a little bit down compared to last year but that has been the general trend in all the bschools. The average package will be around mid 6.25 -7 lpa. Exact figures will be known once the placement report is released.

Regarding number of people not placed yet, the number is less than half a dozen and with many companies still lined up, you can expect that number to get erased in no time.

Telling the average package sector wise will be difficult, i will get the required information and get back to you regarding this. Regarding the companies which visited the campus till last year, you can see the last year placement report to get the exact idea. You will find all the companies name there itself. Also the presentations that you all had seen when you came here for the gd/pi also listed the companies which had come to the campus till that day.

Regarding summers, we have had some great companies giving internship opportunities to students this year like RBI, DHCL, Ranbaxy, IBM, Manhindra and Mahindra, NSE, Deloitte etc. So not much need to worry at that front

Lateral Placement - With each passing year, companies are showing more and more trend to differentiate freshers and people with work ex. Criteria varies from company to company with general trend of minimum number of months of work ex required to qualify for laterals being 18-24.

Regarding Locational disadvantage - it has its impact on the branding overall since the college doesnt get much exposed to the media as say some other bschool in metros will get. But then that affect stops there. Also since its just 4 hrs away from Delhi, those limitations are almost minimal. One of the USP here is students getting guest faculties from industries (IBM, Coke, Intel etc) and you have to just sit in one of their lectures to understand the value addition that occurs with each sitting. You all would have already seen the infrastructure here and that will match best of the best.

Not to forget, the dual specialization helps you to diversify yourself and giving you more opportunities in different sectors during placements.

I am a 2006 pass out of IITR ,I too had the same apprehensions like you regarding job , placements etc ( I had a work ex of 8 years at that time) , but I took the plunge and I am very happy that I did so ......You see , we all forget one simple thing when we are striving for an MBA degree - its a means and not the end to your career goals .......please never do an MBA for getting better salaries or paypackets , instead if yr objective is to add value with real business knowledge and you really feel that doing an MBA would definitely help you in finding a career that suits you ...then go ahead and do it .......and if u really like what you are doing ......be it MBA or non MBA ....the money will definitely follow .....So think what you want ..........focus on the learning part and enjoy the journey ....recessions come and go .........the best of best always survive ........
