Hello seniors....need ur help

today i got my admit card n saw my Category mentioned as OBC but i belong to GENERAL CATEGORY.
now how can i change my category to GENERAL.
i m worrying coz if it does not changes then my results will be prepared according to OBC category and if i qualifies then i will have to show the OBC certificates then i would be in trouble.

what can i do to get rid of this problem...

kindly help me as soon as possible.

Hi!
To the best of my knowledge for all other IITs except SJMSoM all you need to do is be in the range of ranks they give out calls to..in case of SJMSoM there are sectional cut offs. Also the JMET matsh section is comparatively tougher than a regular CAT or XAT maths section since it involves higher maths(read diffrentiation, integration etc.) but then since it applies to all the sectioanl cut off for maths is quite manageable . however with the paper pattern changing both in terms of the no. of questions and the paper duration this year, expect the difficulty level to be slightly on the higher side but with an extra hour thrown in to tackle the questions . All the best and prepare good!

Would like to correct you here...Only if you clear a minimum cutoff in each section, do you get a rank in JMET...therefore its not only SJMSOM bt all colleges that have sectional cut offs. However the ranks upto which students are called differs...

DMS, IITD 402 was last rank last yr
and so on.

I will like to clarify that the minimum cut-off in JMET was actaully zero last year.. If someone who had a rank of 3000 but still have a negative score in one of the section then he/she won't qualify in the JMET..

However what raveesh meant to say was that SJMSOM have a cutoff which is higher than that followed by the JMET committee...

I am unsure about what is the cut-offs followed by other IIT's

There was huge debate last year over the cutoffs to get the jmet rank. But it was widely believed that though last year the cutoffs was zero but prior to that Jmet did have some positive cutoffs for each section. So nothing conclusive can be assumed for this year until ofcourse something is given in the brochure.

IIT Delhi did not have any individual cutoff so if someone got a rank then that aspirant is qualified to be considered for DMS, IITD. Dont know about other IIT's
