As i have already mentioned in this thread the sectional cutoffs for the last years. Last year for qualifying through JMET exams you were suppose to have 30% aggregate score with positive scores in Math and DI, and for final calls every IIT had different criteria, so nearly 50/150 was the last call reciever from IIT Roorkee that nearly comes out to rank 1700 odd..
may be this year cutoff might be slightly higher......

from my last year's experience i can tell that even a score as low as 4-5 was enough to clear the cutoff in Quant out of 40 questions.And remember even Engineers would struggle with Calculus and not so common higher maths ( e.g Linear programming etc) if asked after 4-5 years of passing his/her 12th.But this year could be a different ballgame with a 3 hour paper and 120 qs. The sectional cutoffs would vary depending on the level of difficulty.

I agree the paper is mid level . Neither too tough nor easy .I know this is a little too much to ask but a soft copy of the answer explanations would really help everyones cause
