With the CAT and JMET exams just round the corner, all of you must be head over heels into ur preparations. Wish u guys all the best, come out with flying colors.
Also please do ask questions here and on the JMET thread. We're there to help u out in every manner we can.
Just to reiterate, since JMET is a score maximising kind of exam, i wud suggest you to solve last year's JMET paper within the time limit, just to find out where you stand.

Hi Sharang,

I, being a serious JMET aspirant, appreciate your input. But, I would like to differ you on the labeling JMET as "score maximising kind of exam", especially this year.

As you must already be knowing, this year JMET has 3 hrs. paper with 120 questions(unlike earlier 2hrs-150 questions). I think this year questions are going to be more on logical side with higher difficulty level.

JMET, the time for change has come, and it has changed. request your comments.

cud u jus list d number of free seats available..
after reservations..
is der a sectional cut off ...
in the score card do v get percentile score (like in cat) or v get a score in the exam (like in snap)??
and wat was d last persons score who made it to IITs..

I guess u mean gen seats here...
For admissions startin 2009, the total seats are expected to increase to 90 and with 8% inc in new reservations, the gen seats wud be abt 55.
Sectional cut off is there, but for tough sections it is very less...for eg for quant the cutoff last yr was 7
In the score card u get a score and an all india rank, if ur clear in all sections...there is no percentile...
The last person who made it to IITD in gen category was rank 402, with a score of abt 57 (will need to confirm this)

Hi Puys,
PG B-School Rankings 2009 are out and we have moved from no. 25 to no 21. However, IIT MBAs are nowhere near to getting the recognition that they deserve, especially amongst the non-engineers. Many of the colleges that have been voted above ours are actually there just because of the popularity index and are much below us in terms of placements, curriculum, faculty, facilities, infrastructure etc.
But comparisons apart, we know where we are and will strive to make ourselves better and better, and in years to come you will surely see DMS in the topmost league of Indian B-schools.

d quant being so easy i screwed it up
and i m quite sure jmet is a level higher den cat at least in quant
no clue wats gonna happen.. totally lost..
and worse thing.. im trying to study the gr8 4000 words of GRE
dono wether il make it...
but definitely wil gv my best shot..
tell me some books for DI .. im absolutely pathetic in solving bar graphs and all the percentage problems..
guys help me out plz.. im sure to undergo some depression....

let me tell u that lots of people have been thru the same phase as u, not this yr bt every yr...even my cat was bad and i had lost all hope...
however u need to brace urself and start preparing for jmet... since the pattern is changin this yr u are on an equal footing with everyone...again i reiterate, cutoffs might increase slightly this yr, but aim to maximise ur score
i wud suggest ims BRM for DI, thats the best material i know for DI.
And dnt get depressed guys, there are lots of exams to come...

dnt tell me tat der will b no calculus problems..
im dependent on tat.. i m very bad at cat kinda problems...
time speed distance.. geometry etc..etc..
ok at calculus.. so im looking ahead to see some calculs questons in quant.. so called higher level maths..
and gotto study DI well..
one more thing .. is logical reasoning as difficult as cat??

pattern change means 3 hrs paper instead of 2 hrs, 120 qns...plz go thru previous posts
LR was a piece of cake last yr compared to cat, wont predict abt dis yr...
all d best
