Hi, I have a query??Is masters needed to apply for IITD MBA?

Eligibility

The candidates having the following qualifications are eligible to apply for admission to the MBA programmes:



(i) Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy/ B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering (Minimum 4 years after 10+2)

(ii) Master's degree in any branch of Physical/Chemical/Mathematical Sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Application, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational/Information Science, Agriculture or Master's Degree in Commerce/ Economics."


This criteria is not there for other IITs....???

Hi Arush_A

Either of the criterions is required to be satisfied. It means if you have Bachelors degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy/ B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering then Masters is not required. But if you have done your bachelors in some other field then Masters as mentioned in 2nd criterion, is required.

i want to know that what type of companies took mba in telecom domain.
i want to work for ericcson,lucent and all..
i want to remain in touch with the latest technologies of telecom

adding to vipul, first of all i want to clear that their are also different types of domains like marketing,finance,operations etc.. in Telecom as well .for operations particularly you require a good knowledge of latest technologies and what better place you can find than "Bharti School Of Telecommunication" in any B-school where you not only get knowledge about latest technologies as well as happenings in Telecom sector along with lectures from director level officials from Airtel and DoT.

n does sjsom exclusively tk work experience pple....
or a good score wid good co-curriculam + work ex in a small company +
teaching experience is enough....plz advise is it like symbiosis..

I m not sure whether SJMSOM has a specialised programme for Operations management, better check SJMSOM s website..
See in DMS,IITD we have to choose elective subjects that decide our specialisation.
So if i choose subjects related to Ops Management my degree will mention MBA with majors in operations management.As far as i know , this is same for all IITs.

I think questions related to SJMSOM will be better answered by SJMSOM Students, so please shoot ur queries in your SJMSOM thread.

Hi Praveen..

SJMSOM offer a General Management Program known as M.Mgt..The first year is common to all the students while in second year you chose subjects from a bouquet of electives.. Depending on your interest you can choose subjects related to the field of Operations Management..However the degree that you will get will just mention the electives and not any specialisations..

My general idea is that the calls for Interview/GD is given on the basis of your JMET Score (both overall and Sectionals)..However due importance is given to ppl with relevant work-ex, academics and extra-curricular while giving the final calls..

The batch profile in SJMSOM is a bit tilted towards people with work-ex but if you are good enough you can always make it..
