Hi,

can anyone please tell me if there's any procedure for changing the address for receiving the JMET rank card. I have sent several mails to the JMET office and also tried calling them but got no replies. I also posted this query on the JMET thread but got no replies. Please help me out

Hi seniors,

there is one big confusion that I'm going through and that is regarding the SoP.
I want to specialise in Marketing(Brand mgmt/advertising) or Finance(private equity) but if I write so in my sop, will it be looked askance by the interview panel (I really hope that as DMS has one of the best faculty, I ll get enough insights into these). Will they ask me to choose another college saying for brands and PE you should not choose IITs as the course here is technology mgmt.
It is totally my doubt, seniors pls guide me out of this confusion.

This time Jmet was conducted by IIT Kanpur, so I guess they will be in a better position to help you. Because score cards would be dispatched from Kanpur.

MBA in IIT. is not about technology management, it is more than that. Whatever you mention in your SOP is fine till you can justify it.
Yes, you are right, IIT Delhi has world class faculty, so they will be knowing everything. Even if you want to get into PE, then you have a very strong case because of our esteemed finance professor Prof. P.K. Jain. He is one of the best professors of finance in India.
Even in Marketing, we have Prof. Baisya who was the CEO of Emami group as well as VP of Reckitt Benkiser.
So don't worry about your dreams, just do your homework properly.

thanks for the wonderful reply, I'm very much out of this confusion now but I'v got one more doubt viz m still not able to make up my mind(between PE and Marketing) and will not able to do so until I personally explore the things myself in MBA, so can I just go ahead with my aspirations in both fields in my SoP (I'v already started my homework on these topics as to substantiate my interest and really loving the fundaes on both:happy::happy

And also, approximately when do the GD/PIs take place? I will need to choose my location accordingly, since I will be out of town in mid Feb

But friend your Jmet score card will reflect your category as OBC. This may create some problem for you, if you apply through General category.

Do you have any idea when your caste will be included in OBC list ?
