i applied for JMET through OBC category.But today only i come to know that my caste is yet to be added in central list of OBCs.so i will have to apply through open category.My AIR is 178.So i might clear cut offs in OPEN too.Will this create ny problem please check and tell me.thanks in advance

I am a final yr BTech student with JMET rank 245. I guess that shud be enough to get a call. My problem is regarding the GD/PI dates. The site mentions the dates to be 27-28Feb & 1-3March. However, I will be having my mid-sem exams during that time. Can I be accomodated at a later date?

i have jmet air 398.. i wanted to know whether there is any probability of call from iit bombay?? and also how is iit kgp?? i am a fresher so cud u plz elaborate the kind of questions asked in acad field??

I know its little weird to ask but let me ask u puys :1eye:

First of all my profile:
I have a JMET rank of 200, 70% in XII and 80% in X. I have done my B.Tech(7.84/10) from one of the IIT and I also have a wrkex of 1.5 years.

Now the real Qs:

Is it really worth to join an MBA program from IITD Specially considering the fact that I already have an IIT degree the brand name thing doesn't add any value to me....

On the other hand, bad academic past and recent selection criteria of IIMs made my chances of getting into IIM next to impossible :sad:. So I guess, I will have to look for other options that's why I wanted to weigh IITD as an option....

Please help me in getting to a conclusion.

I have a rank of 1195 in JMET 2009.. I don't think i stand a chance here but i have a few doubts regarding the admission procedure. A lot of people who have done well in JMET would also have done well in other exams. In that case after being selected for admission into GD/PI what if they opt for some other coll?? How is it compensated for?? Is there a waiting list of sorts ?? Please elaborate.

friend, as far as DMS,IIT-Delhi is considered, it is one of the Top b-schools in the country. moreover we have one of our batchmates as well as a senior who have done their engineering from IIT.and being an IITian you can imagine the kind of exposure one gets at IITs.so my suggestion you should atleast apply to DMS and in the mean time weigh your options.we have people here who also had selections in colleges like IIFT,NMIMS,IIT-B,IMT-G etc.. so if you are not looking at IIMs only, IITs are worth a place to be.

IIT Delhi comes out with a final list and a single waitlist. But in any case it does not issue more calls. In fact IIT Delhi does not come out with second waitlist either. Our batch has 63 students and our senior's batch size is of 48. Our professors are very particular about the quality of students, if they do not find good quality they prefer to leave the seats vacant.

I am sorry dear, dates can not be postponed. Department does not conduct interviews after the given dates. So please try to adjust your schedule according to GD/PI dates. Moreover these are mid-sem exams you can ask your professors to have that particular exam which you may miss, on some other day.

It is not allowed to compare different B-schools on pagalguy. Last year cut off for IIT Bombay was 345. This year they may have more number of seats. You can find more information about IIT Bombay on their thread. Kindly refer that.
I will just you to brush up your subjects and make atleast 2 subjects as your favourite subjects. Few students shared their interview experience last year. Here is the link ->
