· List three (3) professional or personal achievements of your life

Can i just LIST the achievements like

2.................
3................

OR i HAVE to write in para form.

Can we attach separate sheet for "Any other Information"

Its up to u how to write it ....
But make sure the person who reads it get ur point clearly.....

You have to fill ur details in the space provided only as the word limit is 100 words as given in the instructions.....

At this stage only DD has to be sent....
No other documents are needed

Hi Seniors,

Need ur help in taking a decision.
I have got a rank of 1705 in JMET.
And a CAT score of 98.73%.
With 42 months of work exp in IT major.
And a decent academics and extra curricular activities.

Please let me know my chances of a call from IIT K.
And if possibles....help me in deciding the IITs that i need to apply.

Please walk us through an IITK interview process..
with "industrial engineering" in the very name of the department, I guess there's gonna be a lot of stress on our college level concepts of Industrial engineering subject.
Besides this, is there an emphasis on other subjects from our engineering ? numerical methods, higher calculus, Mechanics of solids , structural dynamics .. I mean, i need to draw a line somewhere or else, I'd end up revising my entire engineering in the 1.5 months time..

Like is it always on technical(graduation subjects) side ?

Apart from current affairs what you can suggest us to prepare in these days?

On what topics a work ex guys can expect questions (Apart from his regular work)

any more suggestions/tips you can give for group discussion/PI part.

Hi laxmi, as already mentioned in previous posts, a rank above 1600 would be a tough call. it might change this year though. If finance is not a problem, no harm in applying.

Hi puys,
Dont be fooled by the name Industrial Engineering. The MBA from IIT Kanpur is at par with the best B schools of the world if not lesser.
Last year, The procedure regarding the GD/PI was simple. A caselet was given and discussion was regarding the given caselet.
You may refer to Last year thread(link on first page of this tread)
PI may vary from purely technical to an HR based one. Be sure to have a decent command on your engg branch basics. Atleast have 2-3 strong subjects which you can answer just about any question. Be updated on all happenings around you.

can the address, for receiving call letters etc., be different from what is mentioned in jmet score card?
also as I'm in IT for 2 yrs, will they ask me some programming/coding also since even i'm into application development, I still haven't done any thing regarding programming till now!!

i just read an old post that said that the average rank of freshers to get thru iit k is 600.
now thats not very comforting cos i am a fresher with a rank of 1244.
a preview of my profile:
10th : 87.6%
12th : 81.2%
btech : 64.86% (aggregate of first 3 years)

in the present economic gloom,wont the candidates with work ex be preferred?

i am not applyin to any other iit..should i apply to be on the safer side?
