Hello friends....
Congratulations to you all who got their ranks in JMET and my Best Wishes for happy new year to you all..
Vivek...it is unethical to comment and compare about various IITs in a public forum.. and i will strictly refrain from it....what i can telll you from my experiences before joining IIT K as what were my parameters to take decision about a business school...i can tell you about my expereicnes in IIT K and how IIT K brand helped me in securing a job from here in the worst downturn we all are seeing for the first time in our life time..
1) My deciding criterion were....college reputation....the quality of faculty and their qualification...courses they teach.......students profile and from which colleges they join.... i took feedback from a few of my seniors from ISM and Reliance Industries .... and...i was talking to them after being convinced that IIT K can give me package and profile which can meet my expectations...... and i was more than happy to see that , out here almost all my batchmates had the same criterion before joining here.....
2)My hobbies are Travelling, photography, writing, reading, swimming, and organizing various events and participating in them sometimes and I found sufficient time to take part in my hobbies for my Overall development.....at any given point of time in the evening ...i could find my batchmates who are busy in..playing basketball...cricket...badminton..tennis..football ...TT....jogging...in gym...attending foreign language classes...learning Gliding at Airstrip..playing their own musical instrument, some students making their own team of conducting the next business event....some chatting..some watching movies.... and of course a few also who are locked in their room for next class assignments.......
it is only after coming here that i realized ..why profs who could earn 5 times more than what they are earning here prefer to stay in the campus as faculty and not in the corporate..( which they find boaring job ..)
3) and this last point is not just about my expereice...but as a whole batch i can say that.. Corporates have a strong trust on IIT K MBA students and has been proved by seniors.. in the words of an HR from a company...." We know that IIT K produces on of the best assets of this country and thats why we have hired the maximum number of MBA students then from any other IIT and at a profile which a topper from any other IIT can think of!!.." .. and when we asked them what they look for before going to any campus.. we got this answer.." The Faculty and their Qualification. and of course students profile "..
Cheers,
