I believe you are eligible to apply for admission to IITM. For further clarification you may talk to our dept office at 044 22574552.
However, you must know that you must first give the JMET, clear sectional and overall cut-offs to qualify for applying and then should start sending applications to the SoMs and DoMSs. So you shouldn't worry about that for now. Prepare for the JMET and worry about such stuff later. All the best.

This was last year's cut off and this year it depends on the no of aspirants and how many apply to that particular college.
Anyways, 2 years of work ex/extra curriculars definetly boost your chances but again, getting a good rank is essential and hence try to get a rank within 1000 to be on safer side so that you can apply to max IITs.
All the best.

There is no special provision for NRI applicants. IITs conduct the Joint Mgmt Entrance Test (JMET) for entry into the MBA programme. If you are an aspirant, you would need to appear for the qualifying JMET 2009 exam the details of which can be found at JMET :: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. Importantly, it won't be an online exam, unlike GMAT and you will need to appear in person at a test centre to appear for the exam.
Specific to IIT Madras and its MBA programme, you can get more details on it by browsing through this link: DoMS IIT Madras.

THanks for your inputs...
However, the DOMS IIT madras website mentions about NRI admissions as below.
"
NRIs and Foreign Nationals
NRIs and Foreign Nationals are exempted from the JMET, the interview and the group task. Their selection will depend on
- Their GMAT score
- Their academic record
- Letters of reference and
- Work experience, if any
"
Ref link: DoMS IIT Madras
The Prospectus for JMET 2009,which also has Prgram details of individual IITs mentions about 10 Odd seats for sponsored/INternational/NRI applicants.Any of the current students are from this category?
Thanks

This if the first time IIT M have made a provision for NRIs via GMAT.
There are roughly 10 seats available. Like any other B school admission, you have to apply to IIT M by filling DoMS form and attach your GMAT score, work ex and other necesssary documents.
For further details, you can contact DoMS office for clarification.
