What's the flagship course of DOMS, IITM ? Or how is the stream split up in the current batch?
Thanks in advance.

Your specialization is decided by the number of electives you choose from various streams in the second year. For instance, if you choose most of your electives(say 70%) from finance, that will become your specialization. It could even be a combination(say 40% finance and 40% systems and IT).
Quagmire may let you know more about the stream split in our senior batch.

To carry forward what Karan says, the final degree you will get from IIT Madras would only pronounce you an MBA, without mentioning any specialization. So there is no flagship specialization per se, if that is what you are asking.
As for the specializations in our batch, the most popular specialization currently in the 2nd yr batch is Finance, with Operations coming a close second. Marketing would come in next, followed by Systems and HR.
Hope this answers your queries.

You are very much eligible to apply for IIT Madras. However if called for GT/PI, in my personal opinion, you will have to convince the faculty about the rigour that a distance learning course puts you through, as compared to a full time MCA course.

For IIT Madras, as it is written a minimum of first class is required, which translates into at least 60%, irrespective of the category. So I guess you may not be eligible for an applying to IIT Madras.
As for IIT Roorkee, the same will hold true. However, you may confirm that on the DoMS IIT Roorkee thread at http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/other-...admission.html ([2009]DoMS@IIT Roorkee, Admission Queries).

You can expect a call if you have a rank sub 1000 or may be around 1100, though people with exceptional academic performance and/or work experience could be called beyond those ranks. Actually over the years the ranks that get into are only going higher.
Yes, 65% does stand a chance. Once you have qualified its your performance, even if average, that you need to justify in the GT/PI.
For marketing, we have had IT, banking and manufacturing firms offer various profiles. In FMCG, Henkel is a regular recruiter while Dabur came in for the first time for summers.
